As she let her guard down, she was able to open her heart to feelings she never thought were possible. I mean at what point do you accept that some people know the difference between rift and wrong and choose wrong out of boredom or because they believe they’re an exception to responsibility? Maybe I am just too cynical but both Prince and Danielle seemed pretty stoic and even the extravagant dates they had didn't convince me that they had this blooming affection.

It does deal with some heavy stuff that both characters go through, but it’s so real and I just loved this so much.

It was also really smart for LaDelle to let Dani and Prince to both be supportive of each other with their passions to increase their connection with each other. I loved the idea of a teen “love doctor,” and the way the main characters support each other is so heartwarming. While their first real encounter isn't perfect, the two definitely make an impression on one another.

He's actually been noticing her for a while, but has never had the courage to speak to her, but how can he give out serious love advice if he can't even follow it himself. Throughout the book, the main characters face their own personal struggles, but while these moments are written with the care and the attention they deserve, this isn’t a story of struggle but one of joy. Also, they both had individual struggles with Dani struggling with what happened at a party on an unfortunate night and Prince having a mother suffering from MS with dad not in the picture. However, she can’t resist when Prince convinces her to go on three dates with him and gradually they fall in love.

Prince balances school and his radio segment with being a caretaker for his mother who has MS, and I loved the way he maintains a positive attitude and never complains about this. Ebony LaDelle’s Love Radio is a love letter to Detroit, to young love, and to figuring out how to love yourself. it’s not even super sad, especially when compared to other books i’ve read, but their story was so sweet and i fell in love with both of them🥹 i fell in love with the story and the writing, too, and i did not want to put this book down!

In society, we aren’t used to seeing a lot of courtship between young men and women, or even full grown adults for that matter, so I was happy to see that happening in this book. You would think that would be an easy task for an aspiring author, but Dani had something happen to her a while back, a traumatic event, that has ended up having an lasting impact on many different facets of her life.Prince is the primary caretaker for his mother, a strong woman fighting MS, and his younger brother.

LaDelle’s method of storytelling is so honest and genuine; you truly fall in love with these characters and can’t help but root for them. Born in MI, awoken at Howard University, and cultivated in Brooklyn, Ebony can usually be found eating out somewhere or being the undisputed Mom Friend of any group. They challenge each other’s preconceived notions such that both grow throughout the book due to their interactions with each other. Dealing with a experience that was traumatic and then being able to come out of it to find what love can be like for real. The banter between Dani and Prince, as they got more comfortable with one another, had me laughing out loud and, at times, blushing a little. We definitely love our mental health representation here, and I especially appreciated both Danielle and Prince’s experiences with their school counselor. and Prince was literally so wholesome and sweet, i loved him 🥹💗 Their relationship was also really cute and i enjoyed seeing the progression of it.
