Something has changed about Mr. Krupp though because he drank the super-power juice, so now whenever he becomes Captain Underpants, he can fly and use other superpowers, thus making it harder for George and Harold to keep tabs on him (evident after a girl snaps her fingers in front of Mr. Krupp while she was listening to music). Instead of Harold and George looking out the window witnessing Captain Underpants running into the city, they are outside on his cape clinging on as he flies into the city instead. Captain Underpants gets his powers after drinking the Extra-Strength Superpower Juice, having the ability to fight and the power to fly (and possibly shoot extra pair of underwear that comes out of nowhere). His powers only seem to fully work when he is Captain Underpants. Captain Underpants and the Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies from Outer Space (and the Subsequent Assault of the Equally Evil Lunchroom Zombie Nerds) is the third book of the Captain Underpants series by Dav Pilkey. [1] The series of American children's books are about two fourth graders, George and Harold, and their mean principal Mr. Krupp, who can turn into Captain Underpants. It was published on September 1, 1999. It is the first book to feature the use of 'Extra-Strength Super Power Juice' (an invention of Zorx, Klax, and Jennifer, the antagonists of the book), which is used to give Captain Underpants superpowers later in the book. It has the longest title of all the books in the series, having 25 words. Its "annoyingly long title" becomes a running joke in the later books. In book 11, when the teachers saw two Georges and two Harolds, they think they are dreaming and then they go naked. They are arrested when Miss Fitt pulled down Officer McWiggly's pants. Mr Hand in the series gets hired. These books were reported "coming soon-ish" at the end of the books. No further information or cancellation has been released since their tease.

We love the Captain Underpants books here, the kids for their silliness (and yes, gross humor) and the parents because these books have gotten our autistic son excited about reading and more importantly talking about reading, like no other. He eagerly snatches up the new book and runs over to show us which new sign Harold and George are going to mix up and turn into something gross this time. We've even caught him reading his Captain Underpants books—by choice! Mr. Kenny Brian Meaner – Mr. Meaner is Jerome Horwitz Elementary School's gym teacher. He is depicted as being an overweight man and with a personality similar to Mr. Krupp's. Like him, he is very cruel to students and often yells at them. He appears in the series, where he is depicted as being incredibly ignorant and talks in a stutter by saying "yeah yeah yeah yeah." In book 12, Meaner becomes Sir Stinks-A-Lot. His name is a pun on the word "misdemeanor" or the saying "can he be meaner." Voiced by David Koechner in the TV series. In the TV series, he has an alternate ego by the name of Sargeant Boxers, which was made as a replacement for Captain Underpants in the first episode of the second season. The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby • Super Diaper Baby 2: Invasion of the Potty Snatchers • Super Diaper Baby 3: Petey’s Revenge Captain Underpants was a bit so-so in this one, mostly to do with several things (which I can't tell because it would spoil things). Robo-George and The Harold 2000 – Two giant robots built by Wedgie Woman based on George and Harold. Jerome Horwitz Elementary School is going to hold its second annual Invention Convention. Students George Beard and Harold Hutchins remember how at the last Invention Convention, they pulled a prank on the school that caused everyone to be super-glued to their seats. This year, however, because the winners of the Invention Convention get to be principal for a day, they decide to take it seriously. Censors in the United States have been targeting the Captain Underpants series after the first book was released in 1997. [34] The Office of Intellectual Freedom of the American Library Association reported that Captain Underpants is the book series with the most complaints from libraries due to offensive content in the United States in 2012 and 2013. [35] Several parents accused the book of having language inappropriate for the book's target audience, children enrolled in elementary schools. The series has frequently been compared with the Horace Splattly series, [37] [38] [39] [40] [41] but not always positively. [42] International publishing [ edit ] Unfortunately, their Principal, Benjamin Krupp wants to avoid a fiasco like last year's and bans George and Harold from the Invention Convention, forcing them to stay in the study hall all day. They decide to secretly sabotage everyone's inventions in revenge after realizing that this isn't fair. I have to say I loved their prank with the exploding cupcake mix (though do I want to know why the mix was green?). How those lunch ladies didn't notice the ingredients were a bit strange... oh well, if the food is really that terrible, I guess they wouldn't know a fake recipe from a real one. DreamWorks Animation Television produced a television series based on the film that was streamed to Netflix. It was released on July 13, 2018. [31] [32] Interactive Special [ edit ]

Despite their sometimes destructive and often naughty ways it's stories like this which prove Harold and George and sweeties (and heroes) at heart. This is probably our favorite Captain Underpants story so far. The main series of novels has developed a pattern of alliteration from the fourth book on—except for the third book, whose "annoyingly long" title becomes a running joke in future books.
