A typical football book, easy to read, easy to follow the story line, a story about a football manager will excite you or not, for me, as a football fan, I really enjoyed this book, the book provided me with everything I anticipated, the only negative I can think, is that the book is written, whilst Jurgen Klopp is still active as a football manager, so it is not a complete career story, I prefer books written about footballers, and football manager once they have completed their careers so you get the whole story.

I learnt a lot less about his time in Germany than I expected, and nor was there a lot of entertainment. Now it needs a further chapter about the Champions League win and this season which may well turn into the season that disappears. Now, I know love is a strong word but even if he kills a puppy at this very instance, I bet every Mainz, Dortmund, and Liverpool supporter will still see him as a saint.

Fantastic book with great insight into Klopp's background and how his style has formed, evolved and been influenced since starting as a manager. The conversations with Peter Krawietz, Klopp's second assistant at Liverpool, are particularly illuminating.

A through and out interesting read about the journey of one of the best managers, certainly the most charismatic one, in modern football. Das Buch lässt mich ein wenig enttäuscht zurück, da ich auf intensivere Einblicke in die Person Klopp gehofft hatte. But nobody is faultless for a full 90 minutes, and when he compares the demeanour of managers in post-match interviews to those being questioned under caution, all is forgiven. He's very demanding but fair, he always push his boys to the limit but never throw them discouraging critics.

The author has a special way to depicts a scene and brings us into the mood in the stadiums, in the pubs, and you can just taste the emotions among the supporters.

It also happens to be one of the first literary accounts of sport’s empty stadia (the “applauseless air”) during Covid times.

It is hard to get back in the game playing against against a very experienced team, they know how to see out a game.Interesting reading this in 2022, with Klopp's Liverpool arc further along than when the book was published, but still incomplete. There's a particularly revealing interview after Dortmund pulled off a famous underdog victory against Malaga in 2013 to reach the Champions League semi-finals: "My motivation as a coach is to collect that kind of stuff, for people to tell and retell it. In 2008, he joined Borussia Dortmund, where he achieved back-to-back league titles and took the club to the UEFA Champions League final. This was a good read as I got to learn about Klopp's history, his time at Mainz as a player and coach.
