The jam door is hard to open: you need to pull the button on the jam clearing door really hard to open. Weight: the HyperFire's weight is considerable. It's not really heavy, but try holding it with one hand, with your arm outstretched away from you. The mechanics are both an advantage and a disadvantage. It has the conveyor-belt-on-the-jam-door dart feeder system (this might have been the first blaster to do that?). Depending on who you ask, this is great or terrible. I think it is great. I think it feeds worn darts more reliably. Also, if you are keen on arduino, it's not hard to make it a select fire without installing a whole kit. Unfortunately, it means you need three motors if you're doing an upgrade. As well, it means that motor's power is transmitted through plastic gears. This is hasbro, and the gears are good quality, but still. If you want more durability some third party's make cast metal gears. Just keep in mind, these gears are significantly heavier and will slow the rate-of-fire.

There’s no loading bolt or pump here – those four D-cells mean the Hyperfire is fully automatic. Hasbro claims it can manage up to five shots per second on fresh batteries, and has a maximum range of 27m. If you’re into NERF warfare of the less subtle persuasion, the Hyperfire is a suitably unsubtle beast that offers a ton of fun. It spits out foam darts faster than any NERF blaster before it, and is a joy to handle. I found it easiest to ditch the shoulder strap and hold the Mastodon a little in front of me to get a better aim – at waist level, though, since this isn’t a blaster you’ll be getting up to your cheek for sighting. My son, however, needs the shoulder strap to carry the Mastodon for any length of time, which means he can’t hold it as far in front of him as I do. NERF Rival blasters make a great choice for team games, letting you choose your side: red or blue. Start a head-to-head competition fuelled by NERF Rival’s power and precision. And for fans of the Fortnite gaming world, there’s a whole range of NERF Fortnite blasters to take your Fortnite battles from the screen to the playing field.

EXPLORE THE NERF RANGE:

Some people say it eats batteries. That's expensive. You're spending four extra dollars every month.

Just behind the accessory rail is a hatch secured with a slide catch, which is for dealing with potential jams. The hatch doesn’t open too wide, however, so it’s not as helpful as it could be. Thankfully I haven’t had many jams.Nerf Guns, or Nerf Blasters, are toy dart gun products owned by Hasbro that fire ammunition such as darts, discs, or balls constructed from foam. The first Nerf Blaster, the Nerf Blast-A-Ball, was released in 1989. One other slight downside to this battery-powered blaster is the whirr of the motor and flywheel. If you’re trying to be at all stealthy, that goes out the window when you spin the Hyperfire up – your foe may have a split second’s warning before the darts rain down. Not that it’s terribly noisy; it’s just not silent. Hold down the flywheel for a bit before pressing the trigger. To stop firing when there are still darts in the drum, you should NOT release the flywheel and the trigger at the same time. Nope. You should release the trigger first, then wait a second, and release the flywheel. Nerf Minecraft– Dart-based fun inspired by the virtual world of Minecraft. Suitable for 3 to 8+. Read product descriptions for more on age suitability. Loading up with ammo is as simple as pushing the Mega darts into the open front of the cylinder, turning the cylinder by hand when necessary.

Accuracy: I would expect junk accuracy from a full auto blaster, but it seems relatively accurate. Super accurate when compared with some other junk. Can jam if used incorrectly: I think we covered this. To start firing, press flywheel and wait a second before triggering, to stop, let go of trigger, wait a second, then let go of flywheel. Launch into epic battles with NERF Blasters! Choose your blaster and get ready to fire with Nerf’s aerodynamic foam darts. So, when you let the flywheel spin for a second, then press the trigger, the flywheel is hopefully going to be actually SPINNING, and the dart is going to be like, 'I'm getting the hell out of here!' When you STOP firing, if you release both the flywheel trigger and the actual shooting trigger at the same time, the flywheel is going to stop, but the conveyor belt that pushes the darts FROM the drum magazine thingy TO the flywheel that moves when you press the trigger is going to be like, 'just shoot one more dart? Please? Just one?' With that covered, let's move on to the pros and cons. Yep, it actually has cons. I just am saying that it's relatively easy to avoid jamming the HyperFire.

Need D batteries (not included): this is a small con; D batteries are cheap and and it's more than worth it for all that firepower. Comfortable: the thingy in front of the drum is really comfortable to hold, and makes it feel a lot lighter and easier to move around. Plus it has a cheek rest for aiming. Yay! Launched in 2003, the products in the Nerf N-Strike series are among the most notable Nerf Blasters. These Blasters fire foam darts with rubber tips up to a range of 35 feet. This series is designed to resemble real-life munitions and offers customizable attachments, including scopes, shields, and barrel extensions. This series was replaced by the Nerf N-Strike Elite line in 2012, which upgraded to a direct plunger firing mechanism that launches darts up to 75 feet. Nerf launched the Rebelle series in 2013, which includes colors and designs marketed towards girls. In 2019, Nerf introduced the Alpha Strike series, which is a budget friendly Blaster. That same year, the Nerf Ultra was released and is claimed to fire ammo up to a range of 120 feet. Firepower: five darts a second doesn't sound overly unrealistic if you compare it with all of Nerf's other unreasonable claims. The drum has not given me any trouble pushing the darts up while firing, which is absolutely amazing, considering the hyper rate of fire, when you don't jam it. That's right. When YOU don't jam it. Assume that it's your fault first. You didn't use it properly. Try to find a solution. Look inside. Figure it out. Then either do better next time, or it's all Nerf's fault. Only then, I say, is a bad review warranted. Style: this blaster is really stylish. It also is quite intimidating for anyone looking at the barrel. Looks cool! You don’t just pull the trigger to start popping darts, though. There’s a secondary trigger you have to hold in with your middle finger, which gets the motor spinning up – then you can squeeze the main trigger to set the foam a-flying.
