One thing to keep in mind, this will all be ETB (not a bad thing, just something to think about), and it might be a while before we see all the releases separately. The new Librarian is clad in the finest artificer-wrought armour a Chapter can provide, engraved with special wards to avert any nasty side effects from his psychic powers. Unlike Njal Stormcaller of the Space Wolves or Mephiston of the Blood Angels, this guy is Chapter-agnostic – featuring no specific symbols or logos – so you can easily add him to your existing force.

As of this point, all Space Marines and Tyranids miniatures are on their own sprues and aren’t attached to any of the other faction. We’ll look at each faction in turn and go sprue-by-sprue. This does mean that some sections will be for more than one unit, but we’ll still comment on each model or unit of models individually. Librarian in Terminator Armour Arguably one of the most bad-ass, un-named, Space Marine models ever, this Lt. does not mess around and is a fantastic miniature through and through. Apothecary Biologis While you can deploy both armies in full to play a brutal but balanced game of Warhammer 40,000, the box also contains more than enough models to form two full Combat Patrols that will let you play this new, faster-paced game format right out of the box. What Else is in the Box? They were mentioned long ago in the TCG, and the old 4th Edition codex book as “an evolution of the Hormagaunt” now, having a model is fantastic. This gives some hope for older models mentioned in old 3rd-5th edition codexes (but don’t get your hopes too high). Within this colossal box, you'll discover a total of 72 brand-new miniatures, divided between the Space Marines and the Tyranids. Among them, the Emperor's Angels of Death are magnificently represented by an unstoppable Captain adorned in formidable Terminator Armor, a Librarian also clad in Terminator Armor, a Primaris Lieutenant donning Phobos Armor, a skilled Apothecary Biologis, five towering Terminators, five Sternguard warriors, a precision-focused Ballistus Dreadnought, and a group of 10 Infernus Marines wielding powerful pyreblasters.

Company Details

Lieutenant with Combi-Weapon: A veteran infiltrator and accomplished assassin, this Lieutenant specialises in fighting behind enemy lines and hunting down Tyranids. The set includes the definitive Warhammer 40,000 10th Edition Rulebook, offering a comprehensive introduction to the core rules, intricate gameplay mechanics, and the rich, expansive lore of the Warhammer 40K universe. Screamer-Killer: Named for the distinctive howl of its bio-plasmic blasts, this Screamer-Killer is a monstrosity engineered for the forefront of Tyranid assaults.

They also generally do a great job hiding mold lines and gaps, which seem no different here. Unfortunately, there don’t seem to be any options in the kit other than a little bit for the Sergeant It is this pattern that forms the basis for the new Terminators, now substantially filled out to match the scale, and the increased detail, of modern Space Marines.

One big thing to remember is that these models will all be East To Build (ETB) or Push Fit, which could affect the value. However, with the Indomitus box, some models came out later with multi-part kits, while others have remained ETB to this day (like the Necron Warriors or SM Outriders.) As the name suggests, Von Ryan’s Leapers are intended to be an agile, nimble unit, and these lithe, sinewy monsters capture the essence of that role with ease. Each is posed as if in mid-strike, natural weapons raised or Cthulhu-esque mouth-limbs reaching for a target. Again, they’re gross, but absolutely gorgeous. What would a Tyranid army be without its swarm of lesser creatures though? Even the humble Termagant is getting quite the glow-up

Leviathan is just the beginning for the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. There’ll be a brisk pace of releases following hot on the heals of the launch set. There are some striking similarities (and some even more striking gaps and seams on this model, the worst of which is obvious in the photo above) between the Psychophage and the Venomcrawler, but that isn’t to say the Psychophge is an ugly model (well, no more so than it’s meant to be). It’s one that will require some work filling gaps, but one that will look very impressive once completed. It’s basically a gigantic dino-bug tank, after all. Indomitus and Dominion were, indeed, impressive in their own rights – but Leviathan surpasses both with its deluge of brand-new, masterfully-designed miniatures and other special edition content. Games Workshop remind us that they are still at the top of the miniature making market – and that their IPs are still capable of producing world-class and original content for everyone’s enjoyment. There is a ton of value in the new Warhammer 40k Leviathan 10th Edition Starter Box; here is the retail price with the savings breakdown! If you have been following the rumors, that we will recap below, these are supposedly the contents of the new Warhammer 40k starter box for 10th Edition. Here again, we see a size comparison, with the new model keeping very close to the original design, except getting much more detailed and slightly larger!

Librarians are the battle psykers of the Space Marines, smiting foes with bolts of witchfire and manipulating the empyrean to shield their allies. Encased in Terminator armour, he’s one of the most durable psykers available to Space Marine forces. Apothecary Biologis The new edition of Warhammer 40,000 shifts the narrative lens far away from the Arks of Omen and towards the galactic west, where the true immensity of Hive Fleet Leviathan is revealed. The people of the fortress world Regium are plagued by nightmares of ravenous creatures that Lieutenant Castamon of the Ultramarines 1st Company recognises as the signs of an impending Tyranid invasion, though even he has no idea of the scale of the oncoming catastrophe. These are models that Tyranid fans will be over the moon about. Their beloved Termagants have made it into the 2020s, and look absolutely great for doing so. Neurogaunts and Barbgaunts Alongside the Captian and Terminators is a new Librarian to help combat the Tyranid’s Psychic Powers! Lieutenant with Combi-flamer On top of that, you’ll get the core rules for Warhammer 40,000, and the rules – as well as specially designed missions – for the new Combat Patrol game format. You’ll also find a full complement of Crusade rules to get your narrative campaigns up and running ahead of Codex releases, and a full Crusade expansion that delves into the story of the Fourth Tyrannic War through a series of linked campaign games. I have to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of Tyranids, and the Tyranid Prime isn’t one of the models in the set that gets me excited for the biomass-devouring aliens.
