Description

Your Hyper X Cloud Flight headset has been there helping you crush the competition in the FPS, RPG and sports games. They have stood the test of time so you could enjoy gaming on another level. However, with how often we use our Cloud Flight headset, we tend not to notice how bad the headset ear pads and headband can deteriorate. There is nothing worse than a great set of Hyper X Cloud Flight losing their edge! If you think we haven’t gushed enough about the design of the headset, don’t worry. The HyperX Cloud Revolver S performance is similarly laudable. Beyond the sound, the HyperX Cloud Revolver S stands out as a excellently built headset, which justifies the higher price. Metal, rubberized plastic, faux leather and memory foam all combine to create a comfortable and durable headset that feels premium. Ten hours of gaming on a lazy Saturday is disturbingly easy to do with the HyperX Cloud Revolver S metal headbands — 1 gold, and 2 white (I prefer to use a metal headband because it tends to stay secure on the head better.)

You can also cycle between four different EQ settings on the box. The standard setting (no lights illuminated) sounds, to my ears, pretty similar to the original Revolver, while the other three are listed as Bass Boost, Flat, and Vocals EQ, or in other words, a more significant mids boost. It’s not as flexible as being able to adjust EQ in software, but on the other hand, purists will be happy they don’t need to install yet another program for a single peripheral. The performance you want – New gaming ear pads are vital to revive that sound you love and replacing that Cloud Flight headband is a comfort priority. The seam stitching on these ear pads stops splitting, and increases the longevity of your headset. The headband’s high-density foam and soft PU leather helps to reduce the pressure on your head from the headsets weight over time. Because the Dolby DSP does such a good job of spreading out sounds, it’s easy to distinguish sounds even in clamorous environments. We were defending the end of King’s Row in Overwatch, and though the payload was nearby and busy with combat, we could head the loud footsteps of an enemy Reaper, get a general idea of where he was (sure enough, he was lurking on the balcony above), and we could warn our teammates in time to avoid a nasty surprise. I also suspect the box adds some noise cancellation to the microphone, same as the Cloud II. At the very least, my test recordings with the Cloud Revolver S sound a bit clearer than the original model, and I can only really chalk that up to better noise gating in the USB sound card. It might not make a huge difference—the microphone is still just okay in regards to quality of voice reproduction. But at least now it doesn’t catch every single plosive. Bottom lineThe HyperX Cloud Revolver S is an all around impressive headset geared for gaming but ready to do so much more. The 7.1-channel surround sound offered through the Dolby DSP creates a wide soundstage that’s useful in games and immerses you in movies and music. All the while, the sound quality dazzles all the way from bass through to treble. The Kingston HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset also features a dust bag to keep your headphones clean when not in use as well as a 53mm for optimal sound. Setup is a breeze. Kingston says ‘Plug N Play’ and the HyperX Cloud Revolver S really follows through. No hunt for drivers,no required software to manage sound profiles. We plugged the USB device in, punched the button on the dongle to activate Dolby’s digital signal processor and – just like that we were ready to go. As I said, the control box also houses HyperX’s sound card and the 7.1 implementation—the most noteworthy difference between the S model and the standard Revolver. So how does it sound? From there, the cable gets a bit insane at roughly eight feet in length. If you’re close to your computer, the cable can feel excessive. But, since it’s compatible with consoles where you might be sitting further away, having the extra reach and not needing it is better than not having it when needed.

Enjoy your Headset again – Old worn out Hyper X Cloud Flight ear pads can cause mega discomfort, but when your Cloud Flight headband wears out you will really feel the pain! This replacement Cloud Flight ear pads and headband kit will save your gaming headset and your sanity! The soft, high-density foam and smooth protein leather of these ear pads and headband will conform to your ears/head giving long-lasting comfort for your gaming marathons! Halloween is one of those holidays that can sneak up terribly fast and can leave us scrambling. But alas, scramble no more, your stars have aligned! Let's turn to the sky for inspo for this Sun, Earth and Moon group costume theme! This is a fun one to have your kids help create and also a great opportunity to learn about the planets and the Sun! Is it the best solution I’ve ever seen? No, but it’s certainly the best control box HyperX has put out to date. That’s not a huge bar, but I’ll take what I can get. Performance: Does it pay off? But I’ll say this: The Cloud Revolver S’s control box is a hell of a lot nicer than the standard Revolver’s. Even the size is better, with the S box’s larger case making it infinitely easier to find it in the heat of the moment. Controls are also larger, easier to operate, with a prominent mic-mute button and Dolby toggle on the facing edge, separate headset and mic volume wheels on the right side, and an EQ cycler on the left.

There’s a tinge of echo that purist audiophiles may hate, but it also offers some novelty to songs we’ve heard hundreds of times. Eddie Hazel’s solo in Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain can just about take you to a different dimension even with crap headphones, so it blew our minds all over again while listening with the HyperX Cloud Revolver S and the Dolby DSP switched on. Crisp, clear sound and great comfort is what we all want from our Hyper X Cloud Flight headset. These replacement Cloud Flight pads and headband are made with premium protein leather and soft high-density foam to renew the comfort and revive that sound you love. Headband Installation Video:
