This my also be because I am in an Automatic as well I guess as I very rarely put it in park or neutral if I am just sitting. I spent half an hour sitting through the one way system traffic today and the whole time the fan kept going on and off, on and off. I responded to Johnrimm`s comment immediately because I know that whenever I am driving my Xtrail I hear the Radiator Fan running a few times when I am not moving forward. As You may have read in my reply to Avocet above I carried out a couple of `Tests` on the Radiator Fan on my Xtrail this Morning. I'm really liking these T30 fans! Their sound profile is nice and quiet, and when they do run fast enough to be heard have a very pleasant sound to my ears.

Phanteks D30 120mm - Cooling - Linus Tech Tips

The Phanteks D30-140 comes equipped with integrated D-RGB lighting throughout its frame and blades on all sides. Multiple D30-140 fan frames can be linked together as one with bridge connectors and screw cover plates to reduce cables, resulting in extremely clean builds. After the 30 Minutes I brought the Engine to 2000 revs for a couple of minutes - No Fan operation - I did this again for 5 Minutes - the Left Hand Fan as viewed from inside the Car operated for 35 Seconds. I read a comment on another thread about Radiator Fans from one of our Members - johnrimm - He wrote that the Radiator Fan on His Xtrail hardly ever runs - words to that effect. The results speak for themselves. Phanteks’ T30-120 merrily beats the Noctua NF-A12x25 with the highest airflow for each noise level. When restricted by a radiator, the difference isn’t quite as drastic as in open air, but the T30-120 still wins by a healthy margin. A Word on Future Fan TestingI am fairly sure that if I was driving about and then pulled up - within a minute or two of stopping the Fan would start running. I waited to see if the Fan would operate again and after 2 minutes the Fan operated again for 20 Seconds. Sorry if that sounds ridiculous regarding a Modern Diesel Engine but I have never been inside a Diesel Xtrail to know how the Engine sounds from the Cabin. so far so good, it keeps the temperature reasonably low (considering it's a slower fan) - around 40 C in normal use and around 70 in heavy load

FAN SHOULD IT RUN FREQUENTLY - Nissan X-Trail Forum RADIATOR FAN SHOULD IT RUN FREQUENTLY - Nissan X-Trail Forum

I do not wish to cause you concern, I am not saying this is right for all X-Trails, it may be that my car is the exception. Speaking of moving air, the stat you want to keep your eyes out for is “CFM,” which stands for “cubic feet per minute.” The higher the number, the more air the fan can move, the better. That said, fans with the highest CFM also tend to be loudest. Well that's what I am not sure about, why would they release two different sets if i can just make the regular was spin in reverse. thats basically saying a normal rad beats a slim rad...well ya as they are using more material/space.I was going to get t30 fans until I saw these, the performance is within 5% of the t30 on the d30 up to the d30 2000rpm limit (likely made so for led reasons and possibly blade material strength) which to be honest I NEVER even want my fans above 1500 rpm for noise. Even the t30 above 2000rpm wouldn't be nice sitting near it. Each to there own I guess but just saying they are literally a t30 with rgb but not going all the way to 3000rpm... for most people they would be great and look good. Also static pressure drops from 3.01mm on the normal facing to 2.72mm on the reverse, and static pressure on the reverse ones isn't such an issue as you would normally have them as an intake without a rad or on top as a pull fan on an intake maybe. Diameter: 120 mm | Airflow: 61.3 CFM | Noise: 29 dBA | LEDs: ARGB | Connector: 4x7-pin | Dimensions: 4.7" x 4.8" x 1" Sooooooo many words, bells and whistles but no data about what matters most from a fan that emphasize low noise and high static pressure: When you get out the Car does smell warm, but I don't hear any gurgling or anything and the radiator water never needs to be filled much. If I use my Xtrail in the `Rush Hours` on Monday to Friday here in SE London there can be really bad traffic [I try to avoid EVER driving then] and I get exactly what You described if I don`t use the Air Conditioning.

Phanteks T30-120 Fan Review - One Fan to Rule Them All

Are You of the opinion that even after driving about because the Engine is still in the Mid Range of the Temperature Gauge and then obviously the Engine goes to the Idle rate of Revs while the Xtrail is not moving that the Radiator Fan should NOT be coming On - ?With the Phanteks Glacier One, there is minimal cable clutter. To achieve this feat, the fans can be daisy chained together, requiring just a single cable run to a 4-pin connector. What’s more, there are three tube clips included within the scope of delivery. These aid in keeping the flexible hoses neatly arranged and feature the ability to route a cable alongside them, letting you hide the motors cables alongside the hoses. Phanteks Glacier One T30 Gen2 AiO Specifications: Dimensions (WxHxD) Sounds like normal behaviour for a car with aircon, but if the aircon is OFF, then I'm a bit perplexed. Diameter: 120 mm | Airflow: 67 CFM | Static Pressure: 3.3 mmH2O | Noise: 27.3 dBA | LEDs: None | Connector: 4-pin | Dimensions: 3.94" x 3.94" x 1.17"
