Both should last for more than 1,000 washes and are aimed at reducing drying time by between 30-40%. They are also hypoallergenic and plastic-free. Or even What are the Top 10 affordable (best budget, best cheap, or even best expensive!!!) Eco Laundry Ball available? Etc. It’s best not to cram your washer totally full — I usually try to leave a little extra space at the top to make sure the clothing has enough room to move around with the balls. Every time you use detergent in your washing machine it releases this into the aquatic environment. Needless to say, this is not good for the planet. An average wash will use 85ml of detergent and 30ml of fabric softener; 115ml in total. So over a period of 1000 washes, Ecoballs will save a total of 115 litres of harmful chemicals entering the environment. NOTE: I always use warm or hot water as that’s what was recommended on the box. Are they safe for all fabrics?

There are a few things that do not come up totally clean but they are few and far between. If a shirt collar is extremely dirty then a small amount of normal liquid soap is rubbed on the collar, along with the Eco Wash balls this gets them completely clean. Bear in mind we are using a totally cold wash here.It doesn’t matter — the laundry balls just need to be outside for a couple of hours (even in rainy, snowy, or cloudy weather) to re-charge.

Basically, there are 3 balls, about the size of a tennis ball, filled with what looks like little pebbles. You simply throw them in your washing machine with the clothes and turn it on – nice and easy. In straightforward terms, they produce ionised oxygen that activates the water molecules naturally and allows them to penetrate deep into clothing fibres, lifting away dirt and grime [1]. They can sit in the washer (with the door/lid open) in between uses — it is good for them to completely dry out once in a while. These laundry Ecoballs from Ecozone are a great alternative to using your average laundry detergents, whether that’s liquids or tablets.

What Does a Laundry Ball Look Like?

I have to admit that I run my machine at 40ºC, but will now lower it to 30ºC after reading Ecoball’s information. Bicarb or baking soda is also sometimes added to the laundry. Baking Soda is the perfect alternative to conventional detergent and as part of my Eco Balls Review I can say that combined with Eco Balls it more than does the job.

I am sure there are even more advantages but these seem to be the most important reasons for using Eco Balls. Eco friendly Washing Balls definitely score high for many reasons over conventional ways of doing the Laundry. Eco Wash Balls-Never Run Out Of Detergent Find an old container with a lid (I used an old 35 ounce Coffeemate Creamer plastic container, an empty Coffee Can will work as well)

Which laundry balls do I use?

Looking after the Environment is more of a concern to us all and Eco Balls plays an important role in helping us to do our bit. They are great for anyone with sensitive skin, anyone with allergies, or anyone who doesn’t like their clothing to have strong detergent smells (me!)
