Description

In this episode he takes us back to 1510, an extraordinary moment when some of the most famous works of European art were being created. I’m glad I had the chance to read The Color Storm and would love to see Giorgione’s paintings in person one day.

By focusing on the dark side of life in 16th century Venice, Dibben creates plenty of atmosphere, and although the parts of the book that concentrate on Zorzo’s relationship with Sybille interested me less, I found this an enjoyable read overall. To the end we have successfully developed paints that cover exceptionally well thereby requiring fewer coats than ordinary paint. Generally, if you paint on top of BAUWERK Prep Coat, 1 litre of limewash paint will cover 6m² (65ft²). The scene was set in the first half of the novel which slowed the pace for me but when the drama picked up I felt rewarded for hanging in there. Clean up with water, you can add a little bit of soap, or if you had a larger spillage you can also use some diluted vinegar (test your surface first).

Every monitor or mobile display has a different capability to display colours, and every individual may see these colours differently. Gorączkowo pochłaniamy kolejne rozdziały, przenikamy do rzeczywistości Zorza, gonimy za tym, co tak nieuchwytne i niemal magiczne.

We believe a better solution is to use the lime wash paint and when desired apply another quick coat. As the water levels rise and the plague creeps ever closer, an increasingly desperate Zorzo isn't sure whom he can trust. However, it does have to be said by focusing so much on description, it can feel in places that the story is lost and I did find myself having to go back and re-read sections to get a real grip on what was happening. Anyone that knows me, knows I love all things Italian, especially the food, and the fact that this is set in a place I have always wanted to visit, Venice, made it just that much better. The closer Zorzo gets to Sybille, the more he gets sucked into deceit and deadly schemes that even he won't be able to talk himself out of. I was totally absorbed into the world of Titian, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Bellini and so many more of the artists all competing for commissions at the same time in early 1500s Venice, but the hero of this compelling book is the lesser-known artist Giorgione.
