Dr Visser is co-producer of two films, directed by two-time Telly® Award and Emmy® Award winning filmmaker Graham Sheldon: Sinking Nation and Closing the Loop. In addition, he is the presenter of Closing the Loop, which is the world’s first feature length documentary on the circular economy and has been selected for multiple international film festivals. Professional How to ward off problems usually associated with age, including arthritic aches and pains, even when your friends and family have told you to just accept it.L'assistente sanitario a domicilio era soddisfatto dei progressi del bambino e disse ai genitori che se continuava a crescere sano non avevano nulla di cui preoccuparsi. Nowadays, the word networking just sounds plain spooky! With LinkedIn and the like doing it for us while we sleep, who has the time to RSVP or even go to a speed network event at the town hall? Author Gail Tolstoi-Miller does — that’s for sure. She’s an all-star entrepreneur and CEO with expertise in interpersonal branding. Her theory is to help out, corroborating social scientist Adam Grant’s research on how giving is a key ingredient to personal success. Thrivers are different: they flourish in our fast-paced, digital-driven, often uncertain world. Why? Dr. Borba combed scientific studies on resilience, spoke to dozens of researchers/experts in the field and interviewed more than 100 young people from all walks of life, and she found something surprising: the difference between those who struggle and those who succeed comes down not to grades or test scores, but to seven character traits that set Thrivers apart (and set them up for happiness and greater accomplishment later in life).

Corporate citizenship is enmeshed in the debate about Africa’s future. Africa is the continent where the social needs are greatest and where the benefits of globalisation have been least felt. What makes corporate citizenship in Africa not only fascinating, but also of critical importance, is that the continent embodies many of the most vexing dilemmas that business faces in attempts to be responsible, ethical and sustainable. This unique collection for the first time brings together in one publication the critical debates, perspectives, experiences and success stories in the emerging field of corporate citizenship in Africa. This publication marks a change in the tide – a groundswell towards a more vigorous debate and robust research agenda on corporate citizenship in Africa. As a home ec major I had chosen to put my education to use to review parenting books only to simply be extremely disappointed in how the books were written as well as the content. This book was different. Less then 15% into the book, I knew I was impressed with the directness and very helpful content. Three things though. I listened to the audiobook and the author got really emotional at times which made it a bit grating to listen to. Second, the author seems to have a strong dislike for all things technology-related. IMHO, in this day and age it is better to harness technology to teach kids the values rather than force them to get off their devices. Lastly, the author makes many sweeping assumptions and gives a lot of anecdotal evidence for her observations, so who actually knows if she’s right, or if these ideas actually work? In addition to his academic roles, Dr Visser is Director of the think-tank and media company, Kaleidoscope Futures, Founder of CSR International and Global Advisory Board member of Asia-based BCorp, IMPACTO. He previously served as Director of Sustainability Services for KPMG and Strategy Analyst for Capgemini in South Africa. >> Commission Dr Visser to do research. PoetIn 2052: A Global Forecast for the Next 40 Years ,Jorgen Randers draws on his own experience in the sustainability area, global forecasting tools, and the predictions – included in the book as ‘Glimpses’ – of more than thirty thought leaders to guide us through the future he feels is most likely to emerge towards the middle of the century. At a meeting of 25 of the ‘Glimpse’ authors in Cambridge in October 2013, each participant was invited to present a ‘great idea’ (or thought, or development or fact) that they believed could improve on world developments over the next forty years. This book is the result of this process and is a remarkable collection of ideas and proposals by a diverse set of thought-leaders, each of which has responded in their own creative way to Jorgen Randers’ concluding challenge in 2052: ‘Please help me make my forecast wrong. Together we could create a much better world.’ Buy the book / Buy the e-book. CSR 2.0: Transforming Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility I thought the author did a wonderful job breaking down some very intangible topics into thought provoking commentary and useful tools.

Advance Praise

The book examines the evolution and current state of corporate social responsibility (CSR), using a five-stage maturity model: defensive, charitable, promotional, strategic (all CSR 1.0) and transformative CSR (CSR 2.0). Reasons are given why CSR 1.0 approaches have failed to have any significant impact on the most serious global social, environmental and ethical challenges. The emergent CSR 2.0 is explored in detail by elaborating on five principles underlying the new approach, including: creativity, scalability, responsiveness, glocality and circularity. A four-part DNA Model is also introduced, covering value creation, good governance, societal contribution and ecological integrity, which provides the basis for defining and measuring CSR 2.0. Finally, a 70-question CSR 2.0 self-assessment diagnostic tool developed by the author is presented, with sample data to show how the tool can be used for future research and practitioner application.
