I know her audience is supposed to younger but I'm still loving these books and I can't wait to read the rest I have on mount tbr. She develops romantic feelings for Charlie as well at the end and is in favour of Charlie and Floss joining up with the fair in the summer. Especially when Floss is annoyed by her classmates putting on faux American accents, followed almost immediately with her using 'Mom'. I also felt sorry for her dad as everything seemed to have gone wrong for him, though seemed to be picking up towards the end. I like the imagination that has been put into the characters, it sutis them because of the sort of situations that they are in.

Candyfloss explores friendships, families, living below the poverty line, bullying and much more but it is still a light hearted book. This is a heart touching and heart breaking book which constantly leaves you dangling on the edge of your seat.

When Floss's mother and stepfather announce they are moving to Australia for six months, Floss has to decide whether to go with them or stay home with Dad--inept, but loving and always lots of fun. Later, Susan goes to stay in her house in France and says farewell to Floss at the beginning of summer.

This was a Christmas present and as far as I can say is that I would recommend this book to readers 9‐12. Let me just preface this review by saying that at the ripe age of 74, Jacqueline Wilson came out as gay. When Floss's mum and her new husband Steve move to Australia, Floss faces a difficult choice, but decides to stay at home with Dad.When the fair comes back in town, Rose and Charlie consider dating, and Floss finds out both are interested in each other and get along well, while Rose lets Floss help her in the candyfloss stall. Floss lives with her mum, step-dad and half-brother Tiger, but when they announce that they’re moving to Australia, she faces a dreadful decision.
