Psycards are another alternative to the tarot. This set of cards is inspired by Carl Jung’s psychotherapy work. Whilst it does share some similarities with the major arcana in tarot, it has some extra cards. Psycards contain 40 cards that are divided up into special groupings as follows: Happenings, Direction, Fundamentals, Characters, Archetypes and Symbols. The thinking behind the cards is that symbols have the power to bridge the conscious and the unconscious. Now let’s look at them one at a time. Study the pictures. What do you see? Observe the details. Just look at the image on one card for a few minutes. What emotions do you feel in regard to the card? Does it make you happy, sad, angry, hopeful? What meaning would you guess this card might have? Write down your impressions. Then think about a time or an experience in your life when this card might have represented a situation or a person. How did that make you feel? What do you wish you could have known at that time? Is there something you wish someone would have told you? Meditation: Psycards can be used to guide meditation sessions and help people to connect with their subconscious minds. The second card is their soul card and shows how you perceive your potential soulmate and romantic partner, whether you are already with them or not.
