Lori handled the battles in such a way that transported me to the forests in which the battles of that war took place. I can’t say much about the heartrending climax of the story without giving something away, but the feeling and sacrifice shown by these characters brought tears to my eyes. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. These arrows are the subject of study in Paul E Klopsteg’s Book “Turkish Archery and the Composite Bow”. Not only will it help with the background for A Flight of Arrows, but it's such a good book, you don't want to miss it!

My hope is that by the last page of this book you will have experienced a stirring of renewed trust in a good (and good-doing) Heavenly Father standing ready to light your path. Can't wait for you to dive into "the rest of the story," as Paul Harvey (for those of you old enough to remember him! His explanation was of how it was the older son's responsibility to seek out the lost brother and bring him into a right relationship with the father. I knew very little of this slice of history, and Mr MacKenzie illuminated it and led me through it with skill. The obsessive desire to cast an arrow the longest distance evolved over time from the military use of the bow and arrow.

Lori takes time to describe and set up scenes to where I felt fully immersed within each moment of the story. I absolutely loved the first book and looked forward to the second one - which I really enjoyed, but didn't love like the first book. Lori Benton is willing to face what that means in the reality of a fallen world, what might be required to serve this Creator God who commands we put others above ourselves. But the mysterious assassination of an English knight reveals a terrible truth: there is a traitor in their midst. The continuing story began by “The Wood’s Edge”, “A Flight of Arrows” follows Anna and Two Hawks’ struggle to find acceptance for their love in a prejudiced world, and the Oneida and Aubrey families’ pursuit of a lost son and brother as war tensions mount and sides are chosen.

As I explored these issues and told this story of adventure, love, war, family, sacrifice, and triumph, it became clear to me that it went deeper than words on the page, deep as an intimate conversation between me and a sovereign, loving God. He holds himself apart from those who love him dearly because of his unwillingness to allow God to change him. And I finally concluded that the author had made the right choice in that loss, for the impact it made on Will.

I highly recommend A Flight of Arrows, but you will want to read the first book, A Wood's Edge first. I had hoped for a good book, what i got was a great book, at just under 400 pages this is no light bed time read, but it is fast paced action packed and full of adventure, the characters are brilliantly drawn for the reader and so easy to become invested in. My heart went out to each of the characters, and I cheered for those choosing the noble act in the face of impossible choices. This same concept surely was noticed and understood by early archers, particularly in a combat zone.

The story is slow and confusing, the herald seemingly focusing on non related issues which happened a long time before the story.
