The battery indicator light is not good, especially when compared to the more expensive Oral-B models. It does not give adequate warning before the battery runs out. Even if you do need 2 brush handles, the 2500 can be a more attractive option, because if you buy 2 of the 2500 models you will get 2 charging stands and 2 travel cases compared to only a single charging stand with the 2900. The Smart 5 5000 comes supplied with a more suitable holder too. It sits on a work surface rather than needing to be attached to a wall. It is our opinion is smarter and less unsightly.
