Unlike natural timber floors, our wood effect tiles do not require any special treatment before or after installation. Most of our wood tiles are made from porcelain, which is non-porous and very difficult to stain. Our porcelain wood-look tiles are very stable and will not swell or warp when they’re wet or with changes in temperature and humidity. This means they are extremely suitable for damp floors such as bathrooms and utility rooms. Compared to real timber floors, wood-look tiles are easy to live with. They can be mopped using a household floor detergent or our LTP Porcelain Floor Cleaner, diluted in warm water. Before washing tiles, sweep the surface with a soft brush to remove dirt and debris. It’s important that tiles are rigorously cleaned during installation with LTP Grout Stain Remover to remove any traces of cement, which can trap dirt over time. Yes! Because our porcelain planks are highly resistant to water, they can be safely laid over bathroom floors or even shower walls. Unlike natural wood, they will withstand wet and steamy conditions and won’t rot, swell or warp when wet. This means they're also well-suited to more functional spaces, such as utility or boot rooms. Our wood effect tiles are made from porcelain - a material that’s much more durable than engineered wood or traditional oak planks. So while they look just like real timber, they’re very difficult to scratch or stain, making them a perfect flooring option for floors in busy family homes.
