Very good fragrance. Quentin Bisch continues to create formulas where Akigalawood becomes the star of the overall profile. Bois Imperial and Ganymede being the best in show, I can now put Kenzo Homme EDP 2022 as the designer/more reachable alternative to the former 2. Nevertheless, their similarities in notes end there as even their shared themes are executed entirely differently. Davidoff Cool Water achieves aquatic notes through fatty and soapy Calone aldehydes that denote cleanliness. Alternatively, Kenzo Pour Homme seeks depth and complexity through combined notes that work together to form a marine accord. Finally, the value for money sits above budget fragrances finds itself overall somewhere in the middle of the road. As an affordable fragrance, this provides some decent value and refinement for its price. As a premium fragrance, it’s slightly less attractive but not off-putting. Unlike Cool Water, Kenzo Pour Homme is a woody rather than fougère-based aquatic fragrance. This means that although they share marine and aromatic themes, Kenzo doesn’t feature a fougère structure but accents wood notes instead.

Welcome to the seaside, thanks to judicious use of Calypsone. The Givaudan captive molecule is known for its floral-salty properties and it’s beautifully on display here. The pink pepper note adds rosy spiciness to the mix. This is not your usual aquatic. It’s thoroughly modern and while minimalist, there’s plenty to hold the attention from start to finish. Quentin Bisch has every reason to be proud of this creation. Similar Fragrances To Consider The issue with this one is going to be that people either love it or hate it. It’s either perfect, or hideous. I haven’t seen a tester anywhere, so I blind bought it. I can definitely understand WHY it is this way. It’s because of its uniqueness. People say they want something different. This is definitely different. Are you READY to experience this uniqueness though? Despite being a 1990s fragrance, Kenzo Pour Homme is effortlessly modern compared to recent releases such as Paco Rabanne XS. Unlike its peers that favoured fatty-smelling aldehydes, it went for a refined combination aromatics and woods.

Will you be claiming the VAT back?

Looking for a contemporary aquatic without the 1990s clichés? Want to feel like you’re on holiday somewhere special? Here you go… Where To Wear It There are the obvious designer classics such as Davidoff Cool Water EDT, Armani Acqua di Giò EDT, Bvlgari Aqua Pour Homme EDT, and Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme EDT, which have aged well.

Finally, its masculinity is discernable yet curbed rendering it into something that is virile but not overpowering. Presentation and Value For Money Unlike other aquatic fragrance such as Cool Water mentioned above, Kenzo Pour Homme has endless depth. Davidoff’s aquatic iteration only scratches the surface with a coastal frolic. Meanwhile, Kenzo blows it out of the water by deep-sea diving to discover the lost city of Atlantis. Wake & Strength Christian Mathieu was the nose behind Kenzo Pour Homme, which underwent a number of reformulations since its original release in 1991. Nevertheless, Kenzo’s concoction is one of the few surviving aquatic fragrances for men from the early 1990s. The sugariness goes on but loses the vigour on its way to the base a couple of hours later. On the long run, I feel more the luscious vanilla note that well blendes with fresh citrus head and woody base notes. If you are anything like me, you should catch the mild facet of the ambroxan, not mentioned in the roster. I mean, looking at the base notes, such as vetiver, cedar, sandalwood and vanilla, and don't see anyone responsible for the resulting sugariness, but ambroxan, which is the new normal. However, are there any of you who notice something in common with Versace's Eros Flame or JPG's Le Male Eau Fraiche as for concerns the sweetness? Maybe it's more than just a suspect, given that the perfumers Nathalie Gracia-Cetto and Oliver Pescheux are also the creators of those fragrances. Kenzo Pour Homme is a great all-day option that feels appropriate during the day, the evening and at night. This is a fragrance that feels at home during a Saturday shopping spree as well as a night out about town.

Although the heart is brief, it leaves a strong imprint that eases the transition into a heady wood-themed base. Musky ambergris notes provide a long-lasting depth to the cedar and oak moss whilst the patchouli briefly lingers.

You can definitely tell that they are in the same bloodline, but the EDP has a smoother, darker feeling richness to it. Don’t get me wrong, they both smell VERY similar, but the EDP is done much, much better. The sharp “edge” that EDT intense shouts out is rounded out and softened, but the projection, sillage, and longevity are not affected at all. This is much easier to wear, while maintaining the uniqueness of this line. It is definitely not guilty of being a “main stream designer scent”. The blue and white outer box is made from sustainably sourced paper printed with bio-based inks. Personal Impressions

All at sea… And we mean that in a good way, of course. This is one busy genre with a huge variety of choices and price points. In this review, you will discover Kenzo Pour Homme and learn about its notes and how it’s wearable. The evaluation will explore its seasonality, strength, presentation as well as its value for money. Overview The sandalwood note – deliciously creamy, with a hint of coconut – concludes the scent with finesse. Aside from earthy sweet notes, the ambergris provides a raw animal musk with deep ocean notes with hints of tobacco. Furthermore, this adds an elaborate and complex finish, which is coherent with the fragrance’s opening head of salty seaweed. The Life-Cycle Of Kenzo Pour Homme

The bamboo shape comes with a bevelled cap that echoes the precision of a cut made by a katana, the samurai sword. Wow, Kenzo really did great on this one. For me, it would have the Honorable mention of best 2022 release in Aquatic scents. Quentin Bisch signs this masculine fragrance with woody and salty notes, composed of a leather accord, patchouli and a marine accord. Much like the heart, the base follows in complexity. Overt notes of cedar wood provide a sharp contrast to its accompanying notes with fresh and oily wood tones. Otherwise, the base consists of a tableau of moist, fresh and earthy oak moss. On a similar theme, ambergris and patchouli shortly follow with a long, sweet finish. KENZO PARFUMS is committed to a more beautiful world, which is why the KENZO HOMME Eau de Parfum bottle contains 15% recycled glass and reduces its weight by 23% to contain 10 ml of additional fragrance*.The EDT also has a strange vibe, which I can only describe with a color - grey with blue shade. The EDP feels more refined, the leather and Akigalawood takes center stage, aquatic weirdness with fig note less prominent, hence the increased similarity to Ganymede and Bois Imperial.
