Description

Tim: A Simple Plan by Scott Smith. A brilliant, masterful, beautifully written thriller. It’s just a shame he’s only written one (massively inferior) book since. Chasing the Dead – Tim Weaver – Penguin Books". Penguin.co.uk. 7 July 2011 . Retrieved 1 September 2013. Ayo: In Chasing The Dead there is a great sense of place, in this case South Africa. How important was this and what is your relationship with South Africa?

Tim: I have a character arc planned out for Raker, which will see him through the first four books. Beyond that, I think it’s definitely a case of letting it flow! The first three thrillers in the stunning David Raker series - for the first time in one unique bundle questo lato umano del nostro eroe che lo rende più interessante, affascinante ai nostri occhi e nel quale ci si affianca e ci si “immedesima”. ;-) But whatever the reason, I found it increasingly difficult to maintain any constant level of interest. I struggled to finish, and once I had, felt relieved to have done so.

THE DEBUT THRILLER IN THE BESTSELLING DAVID RAKER MISSING PERSONS SERIES, PERFECT FOR FANS OF MO HAYDER, LINWOOD BARCLAY AND MICHAEL CONNELLY DISCLOSURE: I listened to the audiobook of Chasing the Dead by Tim Weaver, narrated by Michael Healy, and published by Penguin, via Overdrive. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own personal opinions. David Raker isn't entirely convinced, but Mary has enough evidence to intrigue him. And then he meets a woman who is legally dead. Tim Weaver said that he decided to write a series about a guy who investigates missing persons in the modern times because he finds it interesting that in this day and age with all kinds of cameras recording everything on every street at all times as well as all day and night news that people still go missing. He also thought that it was interesting how many stories there have to be when someone vanishes.

Tim Weaver is the author of currently two books featuring David Raker an investigator who finds missing people. He has a fondness for 80s action movies which he has transferred to his character. Weaver's tenth book, No One Home, was again selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club on 20 February 2020 [12] and on 15 April 2021, Weaver released his first standalone novel, Missing Pieces. [13] Podcast [ edit ] What I enjoyed most about “Chasing the Dead” was the strong sense of place, the willingness to confront the seedy and unpleasant without wallowing in it and mastery of pace shown in the writing and the plotting. Tim: I’m still trying to finish it, so it’s in a very rough state but basically the premise is this: Raker is approached by a woman whose husband got onto the Tube one morning – and never got off again. Weaver's books get better each time - tense, complex, written with flair as well as care * Guardian *

Tim: I need total silence, and need to be nowhere near a TV, as I’m easily distracted. We’ve got a spare room/office, which I use in the summer, but it’s like a refrigerator in the winter, so I tend to come downstairs where the warmth is between about October and February. Ayo: Raker is quite a troubled person with a rather sad personal life. Were you determined not to make him “perfect” or were you just more inclined to fashion him after more “iconic” PI’s whose lives are somewhat troubled? Ayo: The third Raker novel that is due out in February 2012 is called The Last Exit what can you tell us about this? Ayo: Your books make for exciting read and it is clear that an enormous amount of research has gone into them... This was Tim Weaver’s first novel. I came to it after reading a positive review of his third novel “Vanished”. I’m sure his is a name that will become prominent in British crime fiction.
