I have worked in care for over 18 years, starting at a nursing home which gave me the chance to learn and expand my knowledge and skills. We continue to be here when people need us most, providing care when it is required, where it is required, be that in the hospice, in the home or in the hospital. From our Well Being services our 8-bed In-Patient Unit, to care “At Home”, carer support and the Lymphoedema Clinic, our aim is to enable patients to live their lives as fully and as comfortably as possible whilst providing support to their families/carers. At Katherine House, residents experience good company, excellent food and the freedom to make the most of every day. Our team of two specialist doctors and a Clinical Nurse Specialist work alongside hospital teams in the Horton General Hospital.All our services are free, and we need help to ensure we can continue to provide support that considers the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of our patients from diagnosis to end of life. Cote Charity Manager, Leanne Thorne and her Deputy, Sue Thorne are supported by a well resourced team comprising Team Leaders, administrators and support staff. I look forward to hearing the feedback at meal times and always happy to try recommendations from residents. My role is to provide support with the management of the home, delivering the highest standards of care/support that our residents deserve.
