When I was given books about Autism / Asperger's or watched television shows, I felt so much of what it's like to be autistic was missed out. brilliant book that is going to help many people understand autism more and help children with autism know they are not alone with not enjoying certain things that others seem to. Part memoir and part guidebook to gaining a deeper understanding, The Secrets of My Spectrum offers a one-of-a-kind insight into the Autism Spectrum —written by a sixteen-year-old. I have been recommending this book to others who I feel may benefit and I know it has helped me immensely. I like how it's got someone's personal life and experiences in it to help others understand that they're never alone and not the only one going through it.

I read it hoping to find a book helpful for autistic teens (which it certainly is) but it really taught me something too. This really helps see things from his point of view to help understand some things he struggles with too, and has already got me thinking about possible triggers he will have for GCSE exams and college interviews etc. With honesty and forthrightness, The Secrets of My Spectrum explores the challenges—and the great gifts—that come with living on the spectrum.

Written by a 16 year old, told in their own words, to give such an inspiring and heart warming perspective of their life and autism. I'm not sure if I will be pursuing an ASD assessment just yet (at the age of 28, I'm not sure how much benefit I'd get from one), but I've found this book very helpful and comforting. I encourage everyone to read this to gain an insight into how people with autism live everyday and feel we can all learn to be more understanding and accommodating to all neurodivergent people.

This book was written in plain English, and very much from the perspective of actual personal situations. It's very insightful and so interesting to hear the side of someone with autism, especially when I see my son struggle, this book has given me a better understanding as to what is going on inside his head. She thought I'd find it interesting as she found it enlightening (even with all her existing knowledge about ASD) and we have wondered for a little while whether I would qualify for a diagnosis of ASD. I found I could relate very strongly to a majority of the passages in the book, both in my life currently and from my childhood.
