I don’t know anything about headphones but my boyfriend really likes this pair and I want to get them for his birthday. I've listen to a different genres of my favorite music from different artist and movie soundtracks, the sound has no escape from its drum designed headphone. If there's any kind of sincere nuance in your music's bass, you'd better make like the Fatback Band and keep on steppin' .

There’s also a persistent hiss when noise cancellation is active but you won’t notice it as soon as music plays. I admit to feeling a bit saddened over the imitation leatherette pads not being authentic, but that sentiment is a worthless one due to the materials used being very good for what they are. I actually have to turn them off and back on TWICE when paired to the iPhone to get the volume level to go back to normal. Not one of my audio buddies believed me when we did blind testing and I didn’t tell them what headphones they were listening to, nor that they were using the BT function and I had purposely not connected the wire into the socket. I would hate to have to use these with the wire because then I might as well go back to my Turtle Beaches. It should absolutely pair with the them for audio, but you won’t be able to use the microphone with the apple products and any gaming consoles. Buttons for volume, Bluetooth, bass boosting and answering the phone are all within easy reach on the earcups, without any learning curve. There's a very thin band of red around each earcup, and the headband is a utilitarian brushed steel that's perfectly functional and mildly more appealing than the cans they connect.

Sony MDR-XB950N1 Extra Bass Headphones review - TechRadar

he first time I heard this headphone, I’d booted this song up, jaw dropped, eyes widened…this is a small closed headphone with a great sense of air between instruments, yet also retained excellent solidity as mentioned before. I can’t think of any good clinical portables off the top of my head outside of that 1350, but that is an on ear. And coupled with my iPhone volume control, I was able to achieve a that middle range clarity I wanted! Not much venting in the design allows for the heat to build up, the thickness of the pads isn’t helping that issue out either. The headphone seems well prepared to be tossed into a gym bag or backpack and take a beating, which immediately puts it ahead of the rather flimsy CAL! If the headphone sounds fine direct connected to a BT source, then of course your dongle isn’t working (rofl).

If you work in a dynamic environment or open offices structure, then probably you should really go for this in case you want to work peacefully without distractions.Once plugged in, the MDR-XB950BT functioned just like a normal pair of headphones, though the Bass Booster function does draw battery power and will stop functioning if the headphones are left uncharged.
