From 2 January we’ll be featuring significant albums reviewed 2003-2023 in our featured album sequences as part of GRTR!@20 Since her retirement, Allyson has delighted in the opportunities gained through travel, volunteering , consultancy and clinical work. She had travelled through West Africa, Europe, the United States of America and the Caribbean. Yusuf Shafi, operations manager, said: "Radio Ramadan Wolves is a community initiative to empower local people in Wolverhampton to explore, express and celebrate their diversity, to create awareness of and understanding between communities, working towards greater cohesion. What both volumes reveal is a talented guitarist, yes, but a lovely voice too. When I reviewed Chantel’s debut album, in 2011, I opined “There is fragility in her songwriting and in her vocal style, which is highly appealing – this may have something to do with her young age but it bodes well also for the future.” Chantel Hall-Reid, co-founding director, has over 15 years experience in education and training. Chantel wanted to live a life with purpose and to leave a legacy that was reflective of her values, purpose, and commitment to supporting others which is why Sister2Sister was birthed.

Chantel is not only a writer and published author; she is too a visionary leader and businesswoman who strategically establishes a strong position in any field of her interest. As a brand Ambassador for the publishing house, Chantel has contributed to the review and evaluation of our Academy and developed the Academy programme. Yanique is a woman whom I have loved as a daughter and sister for over ten years. We have been through some great fun times, sad times and crazy times together. More recently we let each other fly… but the love between us could never die.

The event will include a presentation of Chantel’s work through book readings, drama, music and testimonials plus a workshop for all ages on how to turn a journal into a book. Ramadan Radio, as a community radio, is a non-profit radio station based on community interest. I started Sister2Sister because I’m passionate about empowering young ethnic minority females to reach their full potential. Self-development has been instrumental for me, and this has inspired the foundation of Sister2Sister.

We go to a range of educational establishments delivering our empowerment programme to girls aged 13-21. The station launched on April 2 and will broadcast for the next 30 days with a host of programmes catered for an Islamic audience.Alongside her community and hospital management roles and caring for her children, Allyson also worked closely with her husband to establish a costume band called Genesis in Notting Hill. Her husband was already established as an original founder member of the Notting Hill Carnival in 1966. Genesis achieved many milestones and travelled extensively around the country teaching the art of mas. Genesis became well respected and world renowned for their outstanding interpretation of themes and attention to detail. Allyson Ingrid Layne had a happy and fun filled life in Trinidad. Her parents loved life and developed a strong sense of family. They celebrated all birthdays and anniversaries on a regular basis with friends and family. The radio will bring a line-up that promises interesting perspectives on the themes and informative discussions that will cover religious services live from mosques, and special fast breaking shows. I started Sister2Sister because I’m passionate about empowering young females to reach their full potential.
