Description

This Deluxe version features a swappable portrait that allows you to display Jin with or without the Ghost mask, as well as a hand switchout allowing you to recreate the epic video game cover art. We have taken the upmost attention to detail into bringing you our first Ghost of Tsushima statue. A true phenomenal masterpiece, this statue will be your favorite for years to come. Enjoy the prodigious feeling that the Ultimate Premium Masterline Jin Sakai will bring to your collection. As such, protagonist Jin Sakai isn’t based on a historical figure, although some of his actions in the game, such as learning Mongol tactics (the Way of the Ghost) to wage war against the invaders, are inspired by historical events. It was after the Mongol invasion of Japan that the samurai began to adopt advanced weaponry and tactics, such as gunpowder and battle formations over one-on-one duels with enemies. Absolutely jaw-dropping. Ghost of Tsushima is one of the most visually-striking games this year and this 1/4 scale representation of The Ghost lives up to that standard. Lord Sakai stands 23 inches tall upon an awe-inspiring windy Tsushima atmosphere, with many elements from video game to fully bring the feeling of 13th century Japan to your collection. The Ginkgo tree leaves move elegantly in the wind as Jin stands at an Inari shrine with his friendly Golden Bird & Fox companions. He wears the Executioner’s Penance armor and holds the Sakai Katana in a pose that would strike fear in any Mongolian invader. Jin does what he feels he must to protect Japan from its would-be conquerors, and for it, he ultimately pays a heavy personal price. Ghost of Tsushima’s tale isn’t one of unambiguous victory or triumph. The samurai films of director Akira Kurosawa, after all, which Ghost of Tsushima expressly pays homage to, may be a lot of things — funny, thrilling, and often tragic — but they were never comforting stories with upbeat endings. We hope everyone is looking forward to these, and we’ll have much more to share as the year goes on! Thank you so much to all of you for your support. We can’t believe Ghost of Tsushima is nearly in your hands!

Ghost of Tsushima Collectibles: High-Quality Figures and

Though I’ve completed the main story in Ghost of Tsushima, done numerous side quests, liberated some Mongol-occupied strongholds, collected tons of cosmetic gear, and done several of every type of activity the game offers, there are still vast swaths of my map that remain shrouded. Do I really want to repeat each kind of mission or challenge over and over, until I’ve seen it all? Samurai pride themselves on their honor code. But it also makes them rigid. Predictable. Easy to break. The Ghost has no limits. This makes him... dangerous." - Khotun KhanI appreciated that Ghost of Tsushima took the time to make me feel attached to its characters, so that the stakes of what Jin and his allies are fighting for mean something. I enjoyed the honest, revealing conversation over bottles of sake between two comrades-in-arms the night before an overwhelming siege they knew they might not survive — almost as much as I enjoyed the battle itself. PS4 game disc owners who buy the PS5 Digital Edition disc-free console will not be able to get the PS5 version for the discounted price. With its quasi-historical setting and its open world filled with activities and upgrades, comparisons to the Assassin’s Creed games are inevitable, so let’s not beat around the bush: Ghost of Tsushima is extremely reminiscent of many entries in the Ubisoft action franchise and other, similar open-world games, both in terms of its combat and its structure. If you like maps with a lot of icons on them offering up things to do, you’re going to be very happy with this game. If you own the disc version of Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR’S CUT on PS4™ and a PlayStation®5 console with Blu-Ray disc drive, you can use this Upgrade Pass to get the digital version of Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR’S CUT on PS5™ for an additional cost. Ghost of Tsushima takes players to 13th-century feudal Japan, transporting them to a time when the legendary samurai fought to protect the country from Mongol invaders. Specifically, the game takes place in 1274 during the invasion of Tsushima Island, a real historical event that would mark the start of a Mongol campaign against Japan.

Though we see young Jin being taught that a samurai must control his emotions, he is thankfully no stoic hero. He remains open enough about his feelings that we understand how difficult the path that he follows throughout the game becomes for him. He’s assailed both from within, due to his belief that a samurai must conduct himself honorably at all times, and from without, due to the people he loves who still cling to those old ideas expressing their disappointment in his actions. You’ll free bears from cages so that they can wreak havoc on their captors and make your work a little easier. You might toss smoke bombs to disappear from sight, or throw a wind chime to distract a nearby enemy. It’s not that these elements are bad, of course. They’re all handled well here, offering the same familiar satisfactions I’ve felt in other, similar games in the past, as I’ve leapt from a rooftop to assassinate an enemy from above or fired an arrow at some explosive barrels. It’s not bad — it’s just rote. Along with our friends at Funko, we’re happy to reveal two versions of Jin Sakai Funko Pop! Vinyl figures! Both versions measure approximately 3.75 inches tall and feature Jin outfitted in his Ghost Armor, complete with his deadly katana and tanto. You can get the original Jin Sakai figure or get a variant with blood spatter at GameStop. It’s a shame that Ghost of Tsushima doesn’t put more trust in its setting, because the real reward for exploring Tsushima could have just been taking in all of its picturesque beauty: a tranquil pond overseen by a statue of the Buddha; a dueling circle in which leaves gently fall, red as blood; a grassy field, its gentleness offset by a single, arrow-riddled corpse. Such morally ambiguous heroes are commonplace, of course, but the particular weight of honor and tradition Jin bears allows Ghost of Tsushima to navigate this well-trodden territory in a way that feels distinctive and appropriate to the game’s setting. And finally, the incredible team at Prime 1 Studio is hard at work on an absolutely stunning Jin Sakai 1:4 Scale statue. While we can only share this early concept with you today, rest assured that the detail here is truly awesome, with details including a fox and shrine, guide bird, and ginkgo leaves straight from the Golden Forest featured in the game. We can’t wait to share more of this one!
