This set of books contains the tales of all of Beatrix's lovable characters, from naughty Peter Rabbit himself, to tidy Mrs Tittlemouse and unlucky Mr Jeremy Fisher. From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902) she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher and Tom Kitten. For the last thirty years of her life, writing and illustrating gave place to a second career as a sheep farmer and countryside conservationist. Engraved by coin designer Emma Noble, it shows the famous rabbit in his blue jacket, and is available in a series of finishes, including Gold Proof, Silver Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated.During her rather lonely childhood and later, as a young woman, she studied art and natural history.

The limited edition coins showed characters from the author’s iconic children’s story, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, with Peter Rabbit the most popular (and most valuable) coins in the series. With twenty-three books, each presented in a charming white jacket and inscribed with a publisher's note on how the story came to be, this gift set contains all of Peter Rabbit's stories. While they will not be entering circulation, each coin is bound to be very popular when they go on sale, following the success of its predecessors. The 2016 coins are the rarest out there, but there have since been additional releases in 2017 and 2018, with coins featuring Flopsy Bunny, Mrs Tittlemouse, The Tailor of Gloucester and a new Peter Rabbit design. In the years before the First World War, demand for her work was so great that she was publishing an average of two new stories a year. A source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist.
