When I put it on my skin I get this beautiful musty curtain that the more living heart components have to break through. Some 6 months ago, when I got this perfume, I mainly got the civet and rejected it by its dominance. The funny thing is, by conventional perfume standards they’re mixed up with A900 and Aromatics Elixir.

I noticed that quite a few reviewers mentioned that it smells like Cliniques Aromatics, I can see why. Fresh citrus and crushed herbs that turn into a musky, ALMOST musty, rose, and finally, the herbaceous and civet-y woodiness. I am so happy I've tried this one I think it definitely takes it's place among the classics for men.Soapy, radiant, but also a bit sour as it progresses into the heart, the complete absence of sweetness may read to certain sensibilities as "dated," not "date-worthy", certainly not a "club scent" or a "daily driver" for the youth. I see by the lot number that it was manufactured in February of 2017 therefore it is a bit past its 3 year shelf life. Based upon other reviews here, it may be that age has taken its toll on this bottle, since most other people seem to report a strong sillage and long life.Well after about 30 minutes, Aramis 900 calmed down to the beauty I remembered from the past and remained with me for the entire day…. It is however rather a generic scent “signature” as has been around for so long I guess it has mingled with so many other popular scents over time, thus lost its uniqueness. I couldn't wear perfumes for a long time due to a skin reaction, but with this solid cologne I finally can again - this product is an answer to a personal prayer! Now some people might think initially, "that's granny's smell" or "nursing home shit" but it is certainly not that at all.
