This one is complex, with several people who might have wanted Rick dead, and many unexpected twists and turns. I really enjoyed the Vera presented in this episode: more introspective about those she works with (and how she treats them! There's a highly dramatic all-action finale before the killer is revealed in a credible and satisfactory way. I tried to slow down my reading because who knows when or if there will be another Vera book but I couldn't control myself.Overweight, disheveled, dowdy Vera resembles a bag lady and is mistaken for a cleaning lady in this story.
