Georgie Ripper was born in London and is a children's book illustrator known for her work on the Rainbow Magic series of fairy books. Fern has dark brown hair tied in loose bunches and green eyes and wears green leaf-shaped earrings and a green leaf pendant.

If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on. Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. More fairy dust, smelling like fresh cut grass, sparkles in the air and leads the girls through an orchard, then a hedge maze, to a tree in the center of the maze. Kirsty spots a perfect circle of ivy, then Rachel discovers a rock covered in green fairy dust when she sits down to tie her shoe. The Rainbow Magic, Unicorn Magic and Pixie Magic books are written by a small collective of authors under the name Daisy Meadows. The girls melt the ice with the warmth of their hands, and Rachel retrieves Fern and warms the fairy with her breath. I like the pictures because I like to see what they're doing, and it looks like it could come true, like you could dream about it. She won the Macmillan Prize for Picture Book Illustration in 2000 with My Best Friend Bob and Little Brown Bushrat which she authored and illustrated. If you like Rainbow Magic, check out Daisy Meadows' other series: Magic Animal Friends and Unicorn Magic!

Miss 4 loves looking at the maps at the beginning of the books and looking at the 'collection' at the end so she can show me which ones we've read from the mini-series. Both girls admire the lush plants and the crumbling old tower, although they’re disappointed to discover the tower door locked.

Fern is happy to hear that three of her sisters are safe, and explains she’d hidden from goblins in the knothole only to become stuck when it froze over. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies. We take turns reading each page and then discuss what we read so that I know comprehension is building up. my sister and i used to borrow out like 10 of these books each from the library and our mom used to read them to us and a bed time story. She also wears light green stretchy trousers with leaf shapes at the bottom of the legs and tan coloured curly-toed elf shoes.
