The Harry has won Which? Best Buy awards for basically being brilliant. It’s good enough at removing pet hair that they give it their stamp of approval. Hetty comes with a crevice tool, dusting tool and an upholstery tool with removable brushes, plus a small plastic connecting tube for these little tools. Only two of the tools at a time can be stored on board, which I found a tad frustrating as I like to have them all to hand as I go around the house. But I just made sure I always had the dusting brush and upholstery tool attached, as for me, these are the ones I use the most.

It’s not nearly as heavy as you would think for all those extras. It isn’t expensive, it doesn’t make much noise. One difference is the drum shape. As you can see from the photo, the HVR240 has a furniture guard above the wheels to protect fixtures and fittings. The Professional also has switches at the front of the machine for easy access. In the dry it has a hefty storage capacity of 15 litres and a wide range of attachments means it can switch effortlessly between different tasks. It really is a vacuum which can rise to meet just about every challenge you can think of. Another popular model in the Henry Hoover range is the Harry. While it has many of the same features, it’s specifically designed for people with pets (hence the paw print).

The head of the family, Henry is certainly the most well known cleaner from the range. First introduced in 1981, Henry’s smiling face has been helping people to clean their homes ever since. Traditionalists will tell you this is the best Henry you can get, and if you’re looking for a reliable and affordable vacuum it’s hard to argue with this view. There’s actually two main models of this Henry, the Henry Hoover 160-11 and the Henry Hoover 200-11. The main difference between the two is the 160-11 has a bag capacity of six litres, whilst the 200-11 has a larger capacity at 9 litres.

While the new additions are welcome, it can be confusing to know which is the best Numatic vacuum for your requirements. Switching between wet and dry cleaning is relatively straightforward. You just need to use the float valve instead of the dry filter. A range of accessories are also included with the George. Despite a significant reduction in suction power, improvements in efficiency means he remains a powerful and reliable vacuum cleaner, suitable for cleaning all types of services. Henry has also been built to be long-lasting, meaning he should last in your home for years to come. With a number of useful accessories included in the box, no cleaning job should be too hard. Like nearly all Henry vacuums the traditional Henry Hoover is corded and requires bags, so that’s something to bear in mind as he’ll need to be plugged in and have his bag changed from time to time. For people with pets in their homes both the Henry Pet and Harry would be better options than the original Henry, whilst George and Charles are also more favourable than Henry if you want a wet and dry vacuum.Over the years we’ve seen his family grow rapidly. We’ve since been introduced to Hetty, Charles, George and James, among others. They specialise in all sorts of jobs whether it’s clearing up troublesome pet hair or devouring spilled liquids.

That’s a difficult question, as the best Henry Hoover depends on your requirements. For everyday vacuuming, we still think the standard Henry is the best choice. It’s powerful, has a huge capacity and is now much more energy efficient. The exception is if you have pets. In this case, the Harry is a great choice due to its active charcoal filter and pet tool.Henry is the stalwart of this range: tough, durable and easy to use. There may be lighter and sleeker models available, but it is by no means too cumbersome and its impressive storage capacity, means you’ll have plenty of time before you need to change the bags. He offers two useful features. The first is a dual purpose hairo-brush which is fantastic for scrubbing off stubborn pet hairs and other stains, the second is a carbon filter designed to combat unpleasant smells. The MicroFresh filter activated charcoal filter will minimise the bad smells your pets can create. The Henry Professional HVR240 is the commercial version of the Henry Hoover. It includes all of Henry’s features, such as a 9-litre capacity, cable rewind system and TriTex filtration, but adds a couple of features for commercial use. It can clean wet spills, dry dust, scrub carpets, and clean upholstery. Essentially it is a 4-in-1 carpet cleaner and vacuum. As the name suggests, the Henry Xtra is just like the regular Henry but a little bit more. He comes with a host of different accessories and features which means he can cope with just about any job going.
