The volume goes up to 70, which starts to hiss at 61+ or so, but even running it at "37" on 4 ohms speakers at a distance of ~3 meters already filled the living room with unconfortably loud sound (while hissing already disappearing between a distance of 20-25 cm - so no problem just controlling the volume on the computer) Now i have no clue how this "airy" sound works or if it will be even a problem with those speakers i selected. In the selection are currently Nubox 313, QA 3020i/3030i, Wharfedale Diamond D320, and *maybe* teufel ultima 20 (though this probably has a terrible low end)

A DAC or whatever method of single ended input you are using will make a huge difference to what the amplifier produces and amplifies.

Test du Loxjie A30 par Audio Science Review "The Loxjie A30 is an attractive, solid performance with excellent measured and subjective sound quality. Inclusion of a USB DAC and Coax/Toslink input eliminates the need for a DAC for less clutter " Technical characteristics Specifications Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.” Eric Blaire aka George Orwell Your speakers are the voice or instrument, an amplifier is a relatively dumb device in that it only has one task which is to Amplify the input signal. Speakers are obviously going to make a huge difference because they are what is actually making the sound. Measuring 15.1 x 17.0 x 3.8 centimeters, the D30 is compact. It features a similar build to SMSL’s M400, only smaller. The D30 has an all-aluminum chassis and it feels quite durable in hand. Thanks to its compact body and the fact that it is an AIO solution, it doesn’t take a lot of space on your desk. The has a smooth to touch grey finish and it resists scratches up to a degree. The unit comes with a good resolution IPS screen and a multifunctional volume wheel that also acts as a navigation button. Amp will be driving my stereo Dali Spektor 1 speakers, (83 dB/W/m, 6 ohms, recommends 40-100W/channel). I may want to drive my Bose SoundLink AE2 headphones sometimes, but driving speakers is most important for me. So I could go for the SMSL SA300 which doesn't have a headphone output.

The entire Loxjie A30 benefits from a careful design, based on components known for their audio quality. While the A30 features the very good Infineon MA12070 amplifier chip, the A30 also includes a 24-bit ESS ES9023 DAC with an integrated 2Vrms AOP. The latter uses HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology to significantly reduce jitter and provide a dynamic range of 112dB. Are my worries of DACs causing noise unwarranted? This is my first pair of bookshelf speakers so I don't know what I'm doing to be honest, but I do listen at very low volumes so noise worries me. Testing the Loxjie A30 put a smile on my face and landed it happily on my recommended list. You are getting restaurant quality meal at fast food prices. I guess the QA 3020i and 3030i would be a bit hard to drive, i assume the "airyness" gets lost when the amp tries to deliver peaks of over 40 watts? or is it just about the rms?Room: the left one will be with it's edge against the wall and 35 cm away from the corner. right speaker will only be 35 cm away from the wall with 2 screens in between. The A30 is based on Infineon MERUS™ MA12070P Digital filter-less Class-D Audio Amplifier which is a departure from many other desktop amplifiers we have tested. So it will be interesting to see how it performs. Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” Build, Connectivity, and FeaturesLoxjie D30 is an all-metal, neat-looking device. It’s definitely not one of those small DACs that can fit in your palm, but it isn’t a particularly chunky one either. With its 269 x 233 mm footprint, I’d simply call it decently sized, yet still desktop friendly.

Hi, I'm a DA-9 earlyish adopter and have posted at length about it's performance and I am no expert on your amplifier.

Complete connection system

On top of that, the unit seems to have a rather significant level of hiss when not playing anything. I'm using the optical input and the noise is the same regardless of whether or not the cable is even plugged in. I'm surprised they don't just stop the output amp when no data is coming in, since this is a class D amp and could theoretically not output any noise in that case.
