This is probably the ultimate Cayman, built and developed to a very high specification by specialists but never used in anger. Following a period of inactivity the BT38 had a full recommission and conversion to F2 specification by Edginton Racing in 2020, including a new clutch, dampers, high pressure fuel pump, pre-warmer and safety equipment.Climb Canyon is full of unique challenges and stages for you to overcome with vastly different terrains and hazards. How far can you drive without running out of gas or crashing your vehicle? The car was built by Pilbeam in 2005 specifically for speed hillclimbing, but is equally at home for sprinting on race circuits. The ex Jane Farthing, Pam & Dave Gardner and Darren Gumbley car originally built in 2002. It has a long and very successful history including a few ‘guest’ drives, notably Alex Summers setting a 39.99s at Prescott in October 2013 when it was fitted with the front and rear wings it is now being sold with. It is potentially eligible for historic sprint, hillclimb up to 600cc classes, HSCC Formula Junior (Class G7) and 500 Formula 3 circuit racing offering potential buyers a very affordable entry into historic Motorsport or to enjoy in a private collection. This highly developed Clubmans began life as a very successful circuit car and has subsequently been converted to a turbocharged hillclimb and sprint contender with a very competitive power to weight ratio.

Peter Hubbard's unique Shelsley Special, Maximus, features a Prosport 3000 chassis (number 0001) with a Darrian GTr carbon fibre body moulded on and fitted with a V8 Evinrude two stroke engine (325hp) and 380 lb/ft torque connected to a CVT transmission. This Kaimann from circa 1972/3 has just had an engine “refresh” to include, new bearings, crank and cam, new alloy cam drive gear, new oil pump (uprated) new pushrod tubes, barrels honed and new piston rings and all gaskets and seals where required. The 1700cc engine has standard size bearings and pistons (flat top high compression). So, plenty of scope for any future machining if required. The motor has an electronic distributor, electric fuel pump and pressure regulator feeding twin 40 DRLA Dellorto carbs. A small high output race alternator and a high torque starter. A bespoke exhaust system from RS Fabrications (Towcester). It will require running in and tuning. The car is for sale due to the owner's recent health issues and to allow Peter time to concentrate on his latest and, hopefully, less challenging project.
