Dirt Tour laminate Released on September 29, 1992, Dirt peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200 and charted for 102 weeks, ending at #196 in the week of September 24, 1994. The album gave Alice in Chains international recognition, being certified 5x platinum in the United States, platinum in Canada, and gold in the UK. Dirt was the band’s last album recorded with all four original members, as bassist Mike Starr was fired in January 1993 while the tour. It included five singles: “Would?,”“Them Bones,”“Angry Chair,”“Rooster,” and “Down in a Hole.” Sonically I needed to crank up the bass on my rig, sounded a bit thin and tinny through my Tannoys otherwise. It is definitely as everyone has said. Flat and dead silent. It is the album to have if you are a Alice in Chains fan or even if your not. Get it while you can. Crew – Craig (The Gooch) Goetch*, George (The Beard)Webb*, Jimmy (The Fridge) Shoaf*, Kevin Shuss, Kevin (Teabag) Wilkins*, Marc Sokol, Mark Naficy, Mike Tempesta*, Randy (Droid) Biro*, Richard Cole (4), Todd Shuss, Walter (Walty Watt And The Jersey Bunch) Gemienhart* Rolling Stone placed the album at No. 26 on its list of the 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Dirt was included in the 2005 book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. It was voted "Kerrang! Critic's Choice Album of th Year". Guitar World named Dirt as the best guitar album of 1992. Loudwire named it as one of the best Metal albums of the 1990s, and Rolling Stone ranked it at No. 6 on its list of "50 Greatest Grunge Albums" in 2019.
