After that i just started the Run command for ARM from the AIO github and waited a while, somewhere i hat to put my domain and choose a timezone. I was able to try yesterday and unfortunately this script seems to keep the HDD spun up by checking it’s temp. Since Raspberry Pi 4 comes with a 1Gbps Ethernet, I decided to take advantage of it and create a reporting system in NodeRED that will monitor and report when the ISP is not keeping the contractual agreements. Things are slightly different now, and to use Plex with your Argon Eon, you have to install docker from the Extra options in the OVM menu. Probably too much for me, given that I can continue to use my microserver, and put the savings towards something more seriously designed as a home NAS.

I haven’t tested it, but something tells me you could have a USB boot from that port and drop the need for the microSD card entirely. For the software we followed Argon’s guidance and downloaded the latest Raspberry Pi OS, but we did deviate a little. It seems that would be the case - the processor chip is different possibly in a different place and a different thickness so the base plate would also need to be changed for the heatsink attachments. Experts in the field will have no problem getting it done, but troubleshooting NAS issues can be a pain, especially if you are doing things for the first time. I rather have a silent fan running at 30-50% all the time, than this jet turbine when things get toasty.You can use existing drives with data already on them if the format/partition is readable by Linux/Raspberry Pi OS. With the original script I was able to prevent this by commenting out the HDD checking as is described elsewhere on the forum. i will try around with it a bit, maybe i will still get a little help with one or the other question regarding omv/docker.

You’ll need a path to your media folder, which OMV exposes neatly in the Shared Folder section – just copy that path, and bind it to your local container folder structure and you are set to go. Switching to a Pi-based system means I can use mainline Ubuntu instead of clownshoes Armbian - and that's worth its weight in gold. I wish they were slightly thicker, had small cut-ins to help with removal and were made of something that isn’t a dust magnet.This script is very similar in feel to those used in the Argon ONE cases and it gives us granular control of the included case fan via the argon-config tool.
