it felt like not-a-good Solangelo fanfic. (I know we kinda expected that too, but it felt repetitive & slow pace. I just didn't expect this from an author. I read a lot of better fanfics.) The sun and the star are what Bob refers to Will and Nico as: when they combine their powers together to free Bob, Will is described as burning with the brightness of a thousand suns while Nico burns like a red giant, a star ready to explode.

Sunspots have complex structures, which are caused by the geometry of the magnetic fields. The darkest area in the center, the "umbra," is where the magnetic field is strongest. Around the edge of the sunspot, the field weakens, so this "penumbra" is a little brighter and shows radial streaks. Sometimes "light bridges" cross the umbra, like sparks jumping the gap in a spark plug. The radiative zone of the sun starts at about 25 percent of the radius, and extends to about 70 percent of the radius. In this broad zone, heat from the core cools dramatically, from between seven million K (12 million°F or 7 million°C) to two million K (2 million°C or 4 million°F). The solar wind is a stream of extremely hot, charged particles that are thrown out from the upper atmosphere of the sun. This means that every 150 million years, the sun loses a mass equal to that of Earth. However, even at this rate of loss, the sun has only lost about 0.01 percent of its total mass from solar wind.will solace being a frankenstein’s monster of every single one of his 2015 headcanons was not on my bingo card but still somehow the most predictable thing that happened The figures in the center are much more interesting, however, because their expressions and movements tell a story. Both look as though they’re mid-stride, with Nico’s coat whipping out around him. They’re holding hands, though Nico’s fingers aren’t laced with Will’s. Is he trying to pull away? The expression on his face is one of concern, and he’s pointing toward the doors ahead of them. Is he trying to tell Will to leave the Underworld, or is he explaining how dangerous their mission is about to get? Either way, Will looks much calmer than his boyfriend, and we can only imagine that whatever Nico is trying to say, Will’s answer is that he’ll be by his side, no matter what.

Nico and Will worked for me because Will had been up close with death before. He's a healer, he has lost campers for three series in this universe. He just doesn't have that anymore. He doesn't even understand that someone is made up with both light and darkness in this book, even though he's the one that pushes Nico to come and help out because he knows Nico isn't just death and decay. They also worked because you got the sense that they were both new to being in a relationship and were just soft, sweet friends as well. The solar wind fills the heliosphere, the massive bubble of charged particles that encompasses the solar system. In 150 B.C.E., Greek scholar Claudius Ptolemy created a geocentric model of the solar system in which the moon, planets, and sun revolved around Earth. It was not until the 16th century that Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus used mathematical and scientific reasoning to prove that planets rotated around the sun. This heliocentric model is the one we use today. The book consists of fifty-one unnamed chapters told in the third person from Nico and Will's perspectives. Nico gets given the YA trope of coming out to everyone, ever, which is told to us in a story a few lines after Nico comments about his trauma of being outed by Cupid - something he very clearly struggles with since he mentions it multiple times. Then we find out he outs Will, but it's ~fine~ because Nico shows everyone at a camp for children born to Greek gods that being gay is okay. A camp run by Dionysus mind you. I get what they were aiming for and I blame the fact that Nico is the first canonically queer character in this series but come on. i'm the son of hades. i don't live by most rules" <-- i can see that being a huge quote in the future

The frequency of a wave represents how many times the wave repeats itself in a certain unit of time. Waves with very short wavelengths repeat themselves several times in a given unit of time, so they are high-frequency. In contrast, low-frequency waves have much longer wavelengths.

‘The Sun and the Star’ publishes on May 2, 2023.

The chromosphere gives off jets of burning gases called spicules, similar to solar flares. These fiery wisps of gas reach out from the chromosphere like long, flaming fingers; they are usually about 500 kilometers (310 miles) in diameter. Spicules only last for about 15 minutes, but can reach thousands of kilometers in height before collapsing and dissolving. While Will is resting, Nico reflects on the fact that he has a boyfriend due to his decades in the Lotus Hotel and questions what would have happened if he was never put in the hotel in the first place. When Will wakes up, he explains to Nico how he has been training with his control over light. The two set out and Will tells Nico about the dream Epiales gave him. When they reach the River Styx, Nico points out a path past a waterfall to avoid Hades and Will puts a sweatshirt to cover as much skin as possible. The boys make it past the waterfall and Nico calls out to the troglodytes. Producers are mostly plants (on land) and algae (in aquatic regions). They are the foundation of the food web, and their energy and nutrients are passed on to every other living organism. The process of creating sunspots opens a connection between the corona (the very outer layer of the sun) and the sun’s interior. Solar matter surges out of this opening in formations called solar flares. These explosions are massive: In the period of a few minutes, solar flares release the equivalent of about 160 billion megatons of TNT, or about a sixth of the total energy the sun releases in one second. We now know, thanks to the official synopsis, that’s exactly what Nico will do. Unfortunately, Hades doesn’t want anyone to visit Tartarus. I’m sure we’ll also be seeing the god of the Underworld at some point, even if it’s just for a brief moment, either before or after Nico descends into the darkest part of this realm. Nico will likely use the troglodytes to find a way into (and out of) Tartarus safely so he can circumvent his father’s rule.

When I say “final product,” these cuts are still very unfinished. None of the special effects have been added. The music is just placeholder music. We have to use our imagination to picture what the final episode will look like. That work, post production or just “post,” will take almost an entire year, from what I understand. Have you ever seen those T-shirts that say “We’ll fix it in post”? I now understand what that means. As the son of Hades, Nico di Angelo has been through so much, from the premature deaths of his mother and sister, to being outed against his will, to losing his friend Jason during the trials of Apollo. But there is a ray of sunshine in his life–literally: his boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo. Together the two demigods can overcome any obstacle or foe. At least, that’s been the case so far... The interstellar medium is the space between star systems. The solar wind, having traveled billions of kilometers, cannot extend beyond the interstellar medium. In 1800, infrared and ultraviolet light were discovered to exist just outside of the visible spectrum. An optical instrument called a spectroscope made it possible to separate visible light and other electromagnetic radiation into its various wavelengths. Spectroscopy also helped scientists identify gases in the sun’s atmosphere—each element has its own wavelength pattern. Also yes everyone, the characters were ooc at times. The dialogue and voices in the book were absolutely asinine at times. Annabeth would never talk like that like what?? I also don’t like how the narrative undermined her and Percy’s devotion to their friends. (The craziest thing is that they were in the story for a fraction of the novel but their voices were still completely misconstrued.) (Also, the literal namedrop of Percabeth in this book had me putting down my Kindle and just deeply exhaling.) Finally, for your amusement, I present some of my recent discoveries as a novice to the film industry: Voyager 1 and 2 are spacecraft traveling to the edge of the heliosphere to discover what the atmosphere is made of where solar wind meets the interstellar medium. Voyager 1 crossed this boundary in 2012 and Voyager 2 did so in 2018.
