Nelson und Jobeth Williams dabei zuzusehen, wie sie versuchen, sich und ihre Kinder vor dem Bösen zu schützen. Auch die "kleinen" Darsteller wissen sehr zu gefallen, wie z.B. Dominique Dunne und vor allem die kleine Heather O'Rourke. Dass beide Jungdarstellerinnen schon sehr früh gestorben sind, führte übrigens dazu, dass im Zusammenhang mit POLTERGEIST auch lange Zeit von einem bösen Fluch die Rede war.
