Noticing the scope of the Bandit's work, Red begins to get worried that the Bandit might try to target Granny's recipe book. Conveniently for him, Granny keeps a lot of her own merchandise around the house, including a plastic Granny Puckett face mask and apron. A featurette on How To Make An Animated Film assures us, "You don't have to be a fine artist", but it helps. As the producers gained greater confidence in the film, however, larger name actors were brought in.

Red protests that she isn't a little girl anymore, and Granny tells her to leave the book where it is.
