Description

It is important to test the application process and the resistance of the surface in a controlled environment. So anyone can experiment with printed electronics and build sensors into their environment, creating large-scale touch and proximity sensors. Bare Conductive was founded to bring this technology to market, and to tap into the demand for creating low-cost capacitive sensors. It will dry very quickly in air but to ensure complete removal of solvent before plating, it is advisable to dry for 30 minutes at 60 – 80°C or 60 minutes at ambient temperature (20 – 25°C). Do not put too much of this stuff onto the button, just a little will do, find the youtube video, it will help.

Included in the 7g bottle is a very handy brush which doesn’t need cleaning after use, as it goes back in the bottle. On wax or silicone rubber moulds, ensure the contact wires are firmly held in place, and the Conductive Paint is also applied to the contact wires for continuity of circuit. Then, like today, getting material samples to experiment with is nearly impossible for individuals, and still difficult for small companies. Most importantly, the paint is now complemented by a product range which includes hardware, printed sensors, and development kits. Electric Paint is non-toxic, dries at room temperature, and can be applied onto any non-conductive, non-hydrophobic surfaces, like paper, plastic, textiles, or wood. The one thing to watch out for with copper paint is that as soon as it has been painted and fully dried, the copper particles will slowly start to oxidise. Spheres are not optimal for conductivity, but can provide a smooth finish and increased conductivity when used in conjunction with flakes. It is great for fast prototyping with printed electronics, fixing small repairs in circuits, or painting large interactive murals.

It consists of a conductive pigment, for example, silver, copper, nickel, or various forms of carbon, either suspended as particles or dissolved in a solution. Contains no methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or other strong solvents, which can attack solvent sensitive substrates, such as polycarbonate and polycarbonate bl ends. They impact the conductivity and shielding effectiveness of the coating, but not as much as the choice of filler does. This can be controlled by sealing Electric Paint using an acrylic varnish, spray or a water-proof coating. It is possible to apply several coats to a figure or mandrel to produce a thicker, more conductive silver layer before electroplating.Bare Conductive spun-out of Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art with the development of Electric Paint in 2009. The electroconductive paint is a surface treatment that allows different surfaces and materials that are non-conductive to become conductive. While most companies producing conductive materials classify themselves as belonging to the coatings industry, Bare Conductive is very much an electronics company focused on a technology stack that transforms printed electronics from passive components, to a platform for making the surfaces and spaces where we live, work, and travel, safer, healthier and more extraordinary. You can rely on our fully trained staff to be knowledgeable and up to speed with the latest technological developments.

Electric Paint is a water-based paint, so you can apply it on any surface that is non-hydrophobic, like paper, card, or wood. Others say that it did not perform as expected, is unsuitable for some applications, and was awful to use. Alternative or substitute products are detailed in the ‘Description’ tab of this tabbed panel or under Related Items below this tabbed panel. We get many different requests from clients because there are many different electrical projects where our paints can be used. Water Based Conductive Shielding Paint – 1-part coatings suitable for use on wood, and excellent for guitars and other instruments. It works well on paper and some other surfaces for using as a temp conductor but only as a toy really. They are also excellent on drywall and suitable for use on walls and other architectural applications. Depending on the paint on the surface, in general most plastics such as ABS, ABS-PC, Nylon, Bachelite, epoxy or Polyurethane resins, wood, and glass with an adhesion promoter HOW DOES THE ELECTROCONDUCTIVE PAINT WORK? Our facilities have the capacity to apply our conductive paints to parts of any size, both large and small. Electric Paint 10ml is the perfect add-on for the hardware including Touch Board, Pi Cap, and Light Up Board.
