Media including shower filter media containing carbon or other adsorbant materials can remove the active ingredients from the water. Therefore isolate this type of media for 3 days. Take care to turn off skimmers while it is in use since they will remove the praziquantel from the water, as will modern filtration systems which use carbon derivatives, or some drum filter technologies.

If necessary a separate tank can be used to treat the fish for a treatment period of at least 48 hours. My crew has Gill flukes and I didn't realise it was gill flukes until I done a follow up scrape three days after. They have had two treatments upto now 5th and 9th March, so I'm going to redose on the 27th of March. Fluke-Solve® contains 50% praziquantel, and its unique rapidly dissolving formulation means you can see it dispersing through the water as soon as you add it to your pond or tank. A Depends on the infestation, fish rubbing/flashing is common as the dead flukes irritate the gills. It is suitable for ornamental pond fish, including in the presence of salt when added as a therapeutic. Fish can be fed normally during treatment. Fluke Solve Plus is safe with biofilters and plants. In the case of some rare resistant egg-laying flukes repeat the initial dose after 3 weeks to ensure the active ingredients are in the water long enough to kill any hatching fluke larvae and break the cycle of infection.

Fluke Solve Plus uses a combination of the proven technology of Fluke Solve (praziquantel) with a new active ingredient (nitroscanate). The special formulation of praziquantel, which easily and rapidly dissolves in ponds and tanks, combined with nitroscanate, means you can see it dispersing through the water as soon as you add it to your pond or tank. There is no need to turn off the UV during this treatment period and the product is safe for biological filters. # No – you do not need to use any chemicals such as potassium permanganate or chloramine T to strip the mucus before treatment. The mucus is part of the fish’s defence mechanism and Fluke-Solve Plus® will still kill the flukes in the presence of mucus. Take care to turn off skimmers while it is in use since they will remove the praziquantel from the water, as will modern filtration systems which use carbon derivatives or other adsorbent materials and some drum filter technologies. No – again ‘detox’ products are designed to remove impurities from the pond water, which can include the active ingredients from the pond water.

The product is designed to persist in the pond water for at least 3 weeks, so when you give the 2nd dose 3 weeks after the first, it will ensure that the active ingredients are present for at least 6 weeks which will break the life cycle of any egg-laying flukes. Both of these can remove the active ingredients from the pond water do not use for at least 4 days prior to treatment. However sodium thiosulphate is safe to use. Do not use in animals other than those indicated. Fluke-Solve® PLUS can be used in a pond without affecting either the bacterial filters or the plants. It is effective at temperatures from 3°C.After the sachet has been opened, reseal, and the remaining contents will keep until the expiry date on the label. Helped me out there , my flukes are difficult to get rid of this year and some are still on the koi after 2 treatments (body flukes) so if its still active for 6 weeks the out look should be dead flukes Hope so mate, but this stuff should kill them all in 24hrs (body flukes) or so I was told. This is what I was told to do by Darren at AK and its what he does. I asked Fiona about it and the reply was its abit outdated but works but there's no need at all to do it that way. I think its supposed to remove some slime first??? I've no idea when it comes to medications that why I phone her up and asked so many questions. Better to ask and get the answers was my thinking lol. Take care to turn off protein skimmers and foam fractionators while it is in use since they will remove the praziquantel from the water, as will modern filtration systems which use carbon derivatives or other absorbant materials or liquids which are used to detoxify the pond water and some drum filter technologies. After the sachet has been opened, reseal, and the remaining contents will keep until the expiry date on the label A No, re dose after 3 weeks, the product will kill any new fluke if left in the pond during that time. (gill fluke). Egg Layers.I have rescraped since the second dose and one koi had one dead Gill fluke and another has one live Gill fluke. Yes – any loss or removal of water from the pond will dilute the treatment making it less effective and running the risk of developing resistance. Turn it off for 7 days and then do a 10 -15% water change, remembering to top-up the product lost with the water change. Extensive research has resulted in the creation of Fluke-Solve Plus®, a product which has been specially developed for the treatment of the resistant flukes which are now causing serious problems in Koi Carp.
