I suspect Daredevil was the literal red-headed stepchild on Stan Lee's scripting docket, the book no love was ever lavished upon. The silver age isn’t my cup of tea but I do appreciate the simpler times when comics was your one true source of entertainment. When a daring act to save a man's life blinds young Murdock, he finds that the same accident has enhanced his remaining senses to superhuman levels! Still, if a run like this was far more par for the course, it makes me sad to think how much better this medium could be. This two-parter rose above the dreary mediocrity of previous issues, due in part to the Invisible Girl being drawn into the plot, tricked by the Trapster disguised as Daredevil (disguises are a recurring theme in this book!

The first 41 issues of Daredevil are here, with him battling villains galore and even hero battles against Namor, Thor, Spider-Man, Ka-Zar, and even the Fantastic Four (the guy pretty much took on everyone at some point or other). Frank has yet to figure out that all he needs are panels shaped like screens: no necessity to draw a complete tv set six times in a row. Yeah, I'm a DD, Miller and Janson fanboy - but many many people agree with me: DareDevil 158-191 and The Dark Knight 1-4 (Miller/Janson's next project) are amongst the best comics ever written -'nuff said!

A tumour in Bullseye's brain may be responsible for the further degradation of his mental state, as explained to Daredevil and to us by a sexy oncologist.

Daredevil loses his radar sense in this one and tries to buffalo the baddies into believing he can see. Visually, this is simply an eighties gem of a superhero comic which look exactly like an eighties gem of a superhero comic.I had been really looking forward to this being over, given how wordy it was and how much of a chore it was to push through at times, though when it was all over, I must admit to being just a little bit curious as to what happened next. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. I recommend this book to anyone who likes their comic books with more rounded characters and clever, engaging plots! Y haciendo lo que le daba la gana, no solo salvó a Daredevil, sino que marcó un punto y aparte que ha influenciado y ha sido respetado durante casi 40 años por los autores que llegaron a la cocina del infierno después él.

Miller’s only fail, on the other hand, are the unnecessary and completely moronic comic reliefs, in which inherently half-witted characters like Turk, Iron First or Luke Cage are propelled into unfathomable heights of imbecility, and an intelligent and compassionate man like Franklin Nelson becomes the butt of every idiotic schoolyard joke. The Ox slugfest was as lame as the plot of plucking just one of the three-man Enforcers to carry the issue. But, and it's a big but, unlike many of these omnibus journeys, this one is pretty much fascinating and entertaining from the word go. The bright colors and clean lines were gone and in their place were film-inspired angles, noirish backgrounds, and often rubbery figures.
