Here are the best, plus what to consider before you invest. The National Geographic Astro Planetarium has more functionality. It has an in-built radio and can function as a speaker (using the included 3.5mm audio cable) to play music from your phone, and it sits at a similar price point. If we were buying a home planetarium as a gift for someone for their birthday or special occasion, we would gravitate towards the National Geographic Astro Planetarium. The National Geographic Astro Planetarium comes with both customer support and a two-year guarantee, extended to five years when you register the product online. This gives extra peace of mind as you can be assured you're covered if there are any teething problems or issues with functionality. Should I buy the National Geographic Astro Planetarium?

Bresser Junior Astro Planetarium Deluxe star projector review

The Sega Toys Homestar Flux is the best star projector you can buy right now. We’ve tested and reviewed a range of star projectors and concluded that, because it's a premium model, the Homestar Flux projects an incredibly accurate night sky, with the possibility of buying up to 30 extra disks to project the Milky Way, shooting stars, and the aurora. Are star projectors realistic? Encalife Ambience Galaxy & Star Projector:A neat combination of a star projector and Bluetooth speaker built into one. It isn't scientifically accurate but it displays vivid nebula-inspired patterns to enhance the ambience in any room. ★★★½ At a distance of two meters between the projector and the wall, the projection area is about 5.9 ft. x 7.2 ft. large. In my eyes, this is also the optimal distance. In my experience, the home planetarium should not be set up further than three meters away. Here's one for space fans and paleontology enthusiasts alike. The second novelty-shaped projector in this guide and it's surprisingly capable in terms of functionality, and during our Dinosaur Egg Galaxy Star Projector review our children loved it! What can we say about the image projections — well, the vivid colors, clarity and brightness blew us away when we turned it on. You can get a feel for this in the unedited pictures shown in this review. The Pococo Galaxy Star Projector is a worthy addition to this guide, and it is a good rival to the National Geographic Astro Planetarium and the much more expensive Sega Homestar Flux. During our full Pococo Galaxy star projector review, we found it a good value star projector with decent build and projection quality.

National Geographic 9105000 Astro Planetarium Multimedia, Black

The projections of stars and constellations are suitable for a small room, but it doesn't have the 'wow' factor of the lasers used in some more sophisticated models of star projector. This is suited to a young audience though, and LED's are safer for young eyes. There is an abundance of blue stars visible in a dark room, and you can overlay constellations to enhance learning. The stars and constellations closest to the projector's position are sharper, the sharpness falls off towards the edges, however, they are sufficient for the young target audience. Blisslights Sky Lite 2.0 A fun way to see and create lights that are comparable to deep space imagery and stars, albeit not scientific. Ideal for creating a relaxing mood in the home.★★★½ During our Aurora Borealis Northern Lights Star Projector review, we were impressed with the musical rhythm mode. It does a great job of altering the lighting display to match the 'feel' of the music, and the sensitivity of the microphone can be adjusted for a more or less powerful light display, making it perfect for parties.Though clearly not a scientific star projector, it would transform your gaming room, party atmosphere or sleeping environment. As the motor is very quiet — near silent, in fact, the motor noise won't be a distraction, allowing you to focus on the immersive and impressive light patterns. Pococo Galaxy Star ProjectorIt does what it is supposed to — it projects high-quality imagery onto any surface to immerse you in the wonders of what the universe has to offer, maintaining a static picture or slowly rotating image.★★★★ We were really impressed with the Orzorz Galaxy Night Light when we reviewed it recently. It easily rivals the Sega Homestar Flux in terms of image quality and functionality and comes at a fraction of the cost. Designed for home offices, home cinemas, gaming rooms, spas, bedrooms and house parties, this laser-powered 'galaxy projector' takes viewers on a journey through multicolored clouds. When we reviewed the BlissLights Sky Lite 2.0 review, we found it very easy to set up and liked its easy operation.

Best star projectors 2023: Bring the cosmos indoors | Live

Considering its reasonable price tag and the many educational benefits it offers, we believe this projector is a worthwhile investment for homeschooling or simply learning about space with your child. The Bresser Junior Astro Planetarium performs in much the same way as the National Geographic Astro Planetarium in terms of brightness and clarity of the projection, we expect they probably use the same components, given that Bresser manufactures both. The focuser works well. It's easy to turn and it's simple enough to bring the image of stars and constellations into focus from as far away as 3m from the projection surface.Encalife Atmosphere Smart Galaxy Star Projector: Although it is called a Galaxy Star Projector, like most others, this is more of a mood-setting light, showing colors and patterns that reflect galaxies and nebulas with lasers that you could associate with a starry sky.★★★★ We feel the Deep Space Home Planetarium and Projector is age-appropriate, expanding their knowledge and creating a sense of awe and wonder. The stars and constellations are soothing and enjoyable; children will enjoy falling asleep underneath them or just using them to enhance the ambiance in their bedrooms. The reasonable price makes this a great option for a first star projector meets home planetarium. If the Brainstorm Toys Deep Space Home Planetarium and Projector isn’t for you There are 30 additional discs available when you visit Astrial, Sega Toys' official online store. Simulations of the aurora borealis and the aurora australis are perhaps the highlights. There is a disc that displays the planets of the solar system as well, but it is the ones that show galaxies, nebulas and other NASA-based imagery that really stand out. For example, the North America nebula as taken by NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope and the weird seven-star system called Jabbah (officially called Nu Scorpii and IC 4592) as imaged by NASA's WISE mission. You can also buy disks that simulate fireworks, 'night jellyfish' and a hot-air balloon festival. Create A Night Sky Projection Kit:If you've got time with the kids to fill, this could be a fun introduction to stargazing. Don't expect to be dazzled by a plug-and-play awe-inspiring experience, but you can enjoy the process of setting it up with your kids.★★★ Despite its compact size and unassuming appearance, this USB-powered projector is powerful for transforming any room into a celestial-like wonderland. When connected to a USB power source, it projects hundreds of laser stars in a single color, creating a truly immersive and atmospheric experience. Whether you're a gamer looking to enhance your gaming environment, a parent looking to create a magical bedtime routine for your child (ensure they can't look directly into the beam), or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of the cosmos, this star projector will surely delight.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Astro Planetarium Bresser UK | NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Astro Planetarium

While you may think 'Why would I need my projector to be rechargeable?', there are some good reasons for this — it adds to the positioning flexibility as you aren't tied to being near a wall, you can walk it from room to room, take it to a friend's house or use it in a camper van. If an educational home planetarium is what you are looking for, for scientific accuracy, out of the models we have reviewed, your choice is between this and the more expensive Sega Toys Homestar Flux. As mentioned throughout this review, the Bresser Junior Astro Planetarium can be most likened to the Sega Toys Homestar Flux and the National Geographic Astro Planetarium (the latter also being manufactured by Bresser). All three take imaging disks and project them onto a wall or ceiling, giving clear and bright images of celestial objects.

An accurate star projector that displays authentic night skies at home based on time and date, this educational planetarium rivals the Sega Toys Homestar Flux.

We've tested a number of star projectors but the National Geographic Astro Planetarium is the first one we've had our hands on which is true to the selected time and date. Prior to the review, we assumed it would be more in line with the quality and functionality of the Sega Toys Homestar Flux as opposed to other star projectors like the BlissLights Sky Lite 2.0 that focus less on scientific accuracy, and more on creating a colorful and immersive atmosphere — it turns out our assumptions were correct.
