In 1847, a young Bavarian immigrant named Johann Gramp planted the Barossa Valley's first commercial Vineyard on the banks of Jacob's Creek. It’s a structural oak, too, which means more oak tannin layers, and will ensure this lives and lives (a bit like one of those inexpensive, long-barrel-aged Rioja). vibrant in flavor but does have a slight acidic taste that gets left behind overall but bursts fruit is what shines this bottle through depending on quantity you are drinking I don't think I'd of been able to handle the entire bottle alone but sharing its a solid win. This is a step behind the red, which is understandable, but that golden flavour combo will win friends, even if the finish is a bit lean. The Jacob's Creek winery is located in the Barossa Valley where our wines are produced using electricity from renewable sources. It's certainly an intense wine, the aroma has a hint of Christmas pudding to me with dried fruit and the whiskey note coming to the fore. The wine is made with Shiraz grapes that are first aged in wine barrels and then in rum barrels, which gives the wine a unique and flavourful profile.

Proudly independent, always brutally honest and occasionally irreverent, this site is powered by your donations. Jacob's Creek Winery is located in Australia's most famous wine region, the Barossa Valley, in South Africa, 80 km north of Adelaide. The Shiraz was first matured in traditional oak barrels before being finished in aged Scotch whisky barrels. Please always read the labels, warnings, and directions provided with the product before using or consuming a product. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. This brand-new release sees South Australian Shiraz Cabernet juice fermented first in traditional French and American oak before a second maturation in Caribbean rum barrels. The Double Barrel range was first launched back in 2014 and is crafted from grapes matured in wine barrels and then finished in aged whiskey barrels to build layers of complexity and a richer, deeper, smoother taste.

It’s not about subtlety or complexity, it’s about sheer mass of rich and generous flavour, and for that I admire it. Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Rum Red Wine is a unique and delicious blend of two different wines, matured separately in two different types of barrels and then blended together to create a rich and flavourful wine. It achieved fame in 2010 because it won the Best Major Tourist Attraction award for three years in a row and in 2011 it also won the Australian Tourism Awards, Best Tourism Restaurant and Best Tourism Winery. Whilst we will always endeavour to supply the vintage listed for a product, there will always be instances where we will have moved on to a more recent vintage before we get a chance to update the description. The palate delivers flavors of dark cherry, chocolate, and well-integrated oak, leading to a wine of depth and intensity, ideal for pairing with grilled meats or hearty stews. In the event of any safety concerns or for any other information about a product please carefully read any instructions provided on the label or packaging and contact the manufacturer. The wine is made from a blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and the result is a full-bodied, complex red wine.
