With this new "CFX" grand piano sound chip, Yamaha has put in more organic acoustic piano sound content to give the piano tone a more natural and less artificial flavor and this was also noticeable up and down the keyboard when I played them. It's not until you get past about 60% volume that the YDP144 starts producing enough volume and depth to enjoy it. The older model had a Pure CF sound engine with sounds recorded from Yamaha’s CFIIIS Concert Grand Piano. At the deep end of the keyboard, there is a single line of red velvet that adds a nice accent and a premium feel to the instrument.

The headphones will block out any exterior noise so that you can hear solely the sound coming from your piano. lbs (42 kg), which seems heavy, but is perfectly in line with other digital pianos that come with a stand and cabinet speakers. For stereo piano sound samples such as the new CFX piano, the polyphony would be cut in half to 96 note polyphony, but this is true for most other digital pianos with stereo piano sound and is still more than the 88 notes on a piano.I’m personally a fan of the rosewood color, though they all look fabulous and you can decide which one you like best.

They also have plastic keys without the ebony and ivory feel tops, but the risk of your fingers sliding off the keys when playing longer is reduced by the matte finish. YDP-144 are un design clasic, elegant, ton de pian al pianului de concert Yamaha CFX, claviatură GHS, sistem de sunet optimizat prinAcoustic Control (IAC) șiStereophonic Optimizer. I personally don’t see this as a negative, as the sounds are great right out of the box; but the simplicity is certainly welcome for players wanting a straightforward experience without the hassle. You’re probably wondering which one fits your needs best, between the Yamaha YDP-144 vs Yamaha P125.You can record what you play so that you can listen to it later on and take note of any mistakes that you make. The Stereophonic Optimizer simulates distance and space, placing individual samples in a digital space away from you and making the experience more realistic. The lighter weight GHS entry level key action feels more enjoyable to me to play when the keys are being pressed down but unfortunately there is too much force pressing against my fingers pushing the key back up. When you reach the polyphony cap, the piano starts to drop the earliest played notes to free up memory for new notes, which in turn affects the quality and fullness of the sound.

Just like an acoustic piano, the keys in the bass area feels heavier and gradually gets lighter towards the tremble part. Unless you have an Apple device you unfortunately can’t use this app, but I’m sure an Android version is in the making. The Smart Pianist App from Yamaha is an easy and straightforward way to control all the functions of your Yamaha digital piano through your tablet or phone. Too much down-weight (touch weight) when your fingers are pressing down on the keys can create fatigue in the fingers, hands, and wrists especially for young children, older people, and those people with issues with finger movement. If looks are a factor too, as in you want it to beautifully complement the rest of the furniture in the room you plan on placing it into, then I advise you to seriously consider the YDP-144 as an option. Sadly, the YDP-164 does not come with a Split mode, which allows you to play two different sounds on both ends of the keyboard. Reading your reviews, I’ve decided to go for either a KDP110 (or KDP120, as is now available) or the YDP164. Korg may not be the most well-known piano maker out there, but their achievements in music tech are nothing to scoff at. The speakers are downward-facing, but they are clearly optimized to sound good despite being reflected.
