The airbed can be detached if you need to use the cot or bed separately. So the next day I took the foam out of the fabric, and cut off about 3" of the width of the pad and reinstalled into the tent. The fit was perfect for the tent, and suffered no more collapses of the tent the next 4 nights.

However, the cot appears to be sturdy and well made, and the air mattress seems to stay up all night. The most significant issues are condensation and zip quality. For people who only sleep a short distance from their cars, camping cots are a great choice. Since they won’t be hauling their cots far, the added weight and bulk aren’t as much of an issue. The no-see-um mesh is excellent at keeping the bugs out while letting light in so you can see during the day. At night, you can use a hook to hang a fan and light.
