Releasing while ramping and then holding again within 1.5 seconds will change the direction of ramp. When ramp reaches the highest level, the light will blink once to indicate. It does not blink when reaching the lowest level. LED and Beam Long Battery Life: With its efficient power management system, the SC32 HCRI flashlight offers impressive battery life, providing you with nearly 2.5 hours of continuous use on High mode. Say goodbye to frequent battery changes and enjoy extended runtime for your outdoor adventures or everyday tasks. Sofirn has made quite a name for themselves, churning out affordable, highly functional flashlights for the masses, and they keep getting better. Sofirn keeps their finger on the pulse of the marketplace and knows what’s hot and what’s not, so if something isn’t stirring the Kool-Aid, they fix it. The SC31T is a perfect example of this. Tactical-style flashlights are hot items, and every big-name manufacturer makes one (or more). I’ve been able to test some of the best on the market, and have a good idea of what makes a tactical light, well, tactical. The numbers for candela were obtained with a UNI-T UT383S luxmeter at 5 and 15 meters, then averaged. Low was measured at 1 meter. Mode There is also a USB-A to USB-C charging cable included, which is a good one to use, as the charging port is recessed and in somewhat of a tight space. If the plastic head around the USB-C plug is too wide, it won’t fit.

Type-C charging: With the built-in USB-C charging port, a 18650 cell can be charged inside your light using the included USB Type-A to USB-C cable, freeing you to enjoy your day and being able to charge practically anywhere. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours using a 3300mAh or 3.3Ah 3.6V 18650 cell. Yes, this is documented in the manual, and if I had sat down and read the whole thing before taking the light out of the box, I would’ve expected that, but this is not intuitive. Sure, there are other lights where turbo is part of the main group or you have to hold for off, but not being able to turn the light off directly from turbo is very unusual. Sofirn has released the SC31T, a tactical flashlight similar to the SC31 Pro. This dual switch light uses a Luminus SST-40 and has good throw. For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. Also, here’s the light with the worst PWM I could find. I’m adding multiple timescales, so it’ll be easier to compare to the test light. Unfortunately, the PWM on this light is so bad that it doesn’t even work with my normal scale, which is 50 microseconds (50us). 10ms. 5ms. 2ms. 1ms. 0.5ms. 0.2ms.In a display faster than 0.2ms or so, the on/off cycle is more than one screen, so it’d just (very incorrectly) look like a flat line. I wrote more about this Ultrafire WF-602C flashlight and explained a little about PWM too. User Interface and Operation The cell goes into the light in the “usual way” (which is to say that the positive terminal of the cell goestoward the head).

Sofirn dropped the SC31 Pro 18650 Andúril flashlight not long ago, and I finally got my hands on one. It’s notable because it’s a very low-cost Andúril light! Read on for some thoughts and testing. Here’s a UI table! There are two groups on the Sofirn SC32 Mini Tactical flashlight. That’s another way (probably really “the” way) that this is a tactical light. State The Sofirn SP35 ATR flashlight is a pretty cool light. The 6 stepped modes are great – low is low and high is high, and there’s plenty between. If you don’t like stepped, there’s ramping too!! The price is great! Long Review The Big Table Sofirn SP35 (ATR) FlashlightDurable and Reliable: Constructed with high-quality materials, the SC32 HCRI is built to withstand daily wear and tear, ensuring long-lasting durability. It is also IPX8 waterproof rated, providing reliability in outdoor and wet conditions. Specifications: ATR technology: ATR will adjust the brightness level automatically when the temperature of the light reaches 55℃ (122 °F) to prevent overheating. In my review copy of the Sofirn SP35 ATR flashlight is a Luminus SST-40 emitter, in 6500K. This emitter is surrounded by a smooth and quite deep reflector. EDIT: Many people have reminded me that often Andúril needs to be calibrated to allow the light to function properly. I don’t disagree, but I also think the light should function correctly out of the box. If it doesn’t, then this isn’t a light suited to beginners, or people unwilling to calibrate. Calibration isn’t hard, but it’s very specific. If the battery doesn’t have enough power when turn on, the LED indicator will flash red to signal critical power.

The Sofirn SP35 ATR flashlight is controlled by a single switch. It’s an e-switch on the side of the head. Powerful Illumination: With a maximum output of 1300 lumens, this small flashlight delivers a bright beam that illuminates your surroundings with clarity and detail, ensuring excellent visibility in various situations. Not sure whatever else you thought about those square anodized threads above, but the first thing I thought was “hey that’s like a new S2+ threading!” I have only one new S2+, and it’s a copper one. And yes it threads on perfectly. And also YES it works fully! Sort of a bonus is that you now also have a mechanical tailswitch! (You’ll ask so: No it doesn’t really work the other way. Yes, it connects electrically BUT notice that you’ve taken out all the switches. So no good way to modulate the modes.)Versatile Lighting Modes: The SC32 HCRI offers multiple lighting modes, including moonlight, low, medium, high, turbo and strobe, allowing you to choose the appropriate brightness level for different tasks or environments. The Sofirn SC32 Mini Tactical flashlight is controlled by a single e-switch. The switch is on the tail and has a nice ripple pattern. This might not be a metal switch, but it’s not soft. It’s very pleasant to use, really.

This light definitely needs thermal recalibration. I set the room temperature to [accurate] – 22°C. Then I set the temperature limit to around 55°C. That means there’s a broad range of operating temperatures for the light to work – from room temp 22°C, all the way to 55°C. The threads on this light are very smooth. They’re square-cut, sort of long, anodized, and again… very smooth. Turbo lasts just under a minute while high takes almost three and a half minutes to step down, but they both converge at the medium level, and all three modes stay there for almost 5 hours. Really, aside from the short burst at the beginning, this is a ~300 lumen light. It would’ve been nice to see it sustain high for a bit longer than that.Runtime tests were conducted using the 30 cm integrating sphere with the Digi-Sense 20250-00 data logging lux meter calibrated using several lights of known output. I used the included fully charged 3000 mAh 18650 battery for each test and tested Turbo, High, and Medium modes. To obtain these numbers, I used a very rudimentary integrated shoebox and ceilingbounce on my Samsung Galaxy S10. Measurements have been calibrated using a standardized calibration light provided by 1Lumen. The bezel is very toothy, and I suppose is what lends the “tactical” side of things to the name. Otherwise, I am not inclined to consider this light a tactical light. As always, I took my measurements at 30 seconds after turn on. The lowest modes didn’t quite meet specifications, but the fresnel lens proved its worth in the higher modes as I measured over 13,851 cd on turbo, pushing the throw 21 meters farther than spec! During use, the indicator near the charging port (which you can see below) gives a brief indication of the approximate cell voltage. Charging
