The Nescafe Azera was the closest I could find to my favourite fresh brew. I wanted it for fast, hot morning iced drinks and so the blend of instant coffee and finely-grown roasted beans made it the ideal dust for the job. That said, the rate in which I was getting through it was denting my wallet. You can make plain cold brew coffee, or try one of my fun flavor suggestions- there are directions for both! It's easy to make healthy flavored coffee using the cold brewing method. Pour your mocha coffee mixture gently over a spoon so that it stays in a separate layer from the orange juice layer. If you are doing a K-Cup, you will put the zest in a small metal strainer and put it over your coffee cup. Hit brew and that’s it!

First, let's get our terms straight! Cold brew is not the same as iced coffee or a blended coffee drink. A blended coffee drink is brewed coffee, usually espresso, processed in a blender with ice and often a myriad of sugary syrups and flavorings. Before first use and after each use, remove lid and wash with warm soapy water. Rinse and thoroughly dry. The caffeine buzz is enough to get the juices flowing on those busy mornings or when you hit the wall during a mid-afternoon slump. If that is not enough, this frappe looks like a Bumblebee. Don’t you think? She has 3 pretty layers and is stunning beverage to serve along with our DIY Ultimate Bagel Bar Brunch. However, there is no bumble bee sting (hangover) because this drink recipe is made without alcohol. Once this drink is all stirred together into a frappe, it is light and bright but creamy and delicious. A MUST TRY! Hidden Cacao BenefitsI prefer 1 cup of cold brew coffee and 1/4 cup half and half for the perfect cup! Sugar won't dissolve very well in cold liquids- so use a simple syrup or other liquid sweetener if you like your cold brew sweetened! Iced Bumblebee Coffee Drink The Azera was rich, bold and fragrant, while the Alcafe version didn't have the same, full aroma. It was weaker by a fair bit. Allow your coffee or espresso to cool before pouring over ice. To expedite the process, we put our espresso and cacao powder mixture in the freezer while we squeezed the orange juice and frothed our non-dairy. I was in there looking for nothing in particular, my favourite way to shop at the budget spot, when I spotted my favourite coffee. With bright orange lid and chrome tub, I'd recognise Nescafe Azera anywhere. But wait.

Milk or non-dairy froths best when it is extra cold. Sometimes, we even put the container we are going to froth the milk or non-dairy in the freezer for a couple of minutes before frothing. From bread pans and utensil holders to toys, planters, and even lamps and lanterns, we’re going to make good use of those empty plastic or metal coffee containers and turn that trash into treasure! Instant coffee is an entirely different drink to freshly brewed coffee. It's a bit like comparing fresh orange juice to orange squash. And some people prefer squash to the real thing. You don't have to prefer the so-called superior product - each to their own. Coffee or Espresso with orange juice in the morning is not a new idea by any means. A side of orange juice with your coffee in the morning has been a tried-and-true tradition, so let us combine the two for a refreshing bumble bee coffee drink.

Even though cold brew coffee seems like a recent fad, it's actually been around for hundreds of years! The earliest record of cold brewed coffee is Japan in the 1600s, although many believe it is possible that they learned about it from Dutch traders. I like coffee. In fact, I am not sure I could survive a day without it. I like to mix it up with my different fun flavored creamers for different tastes. So, when Seattle’s Best Coffee mailed me the goodies to make Orange Coffee, I was pretty intrigued. Yes, I said ORANGE and Coffee. It doesn’t turn orange, don’t worry 😉 But it does give it a tasteful twist on your favorite brew. I strongly recommend trying a slice of my Orange & Banana Bundt Cake to go with it, it’s a match made in heaven! One thing I'm trying to perfect is cold-brewed coffee, essentially steep the ground coffee in cold water overnight, filter and keep the liquor in a jug in the fridge and use it by adding hot water or milk or reheating it. A much smoother drink than from the hot brewed cafetiere or wotnot, and of course it's essentially home-made "instant"! We know what you are thinking! Coffee and orange juice together in one cup? Really? You got to be kidding, right? Cold brew is a coarser ground coffee, extracted in cool water over an 18-24 hour period. Because the coffee grounds are not heated, some of the more bitter molecule are not released, giving cold-brewed coffee and entirely different flavor profile and overall sweeter, smoother taste. It is also less acidic and therefore easier on the stomach!
