Broken down into extremely short chapters with lots of paragraph breaks, the book is both a quick and easy read, even when the subject matter is often heavy. I don't think there is a single person on the planet who doesn't know the name Britney Spears, be it as a fan or just from some of the many many stories in the news over the years. We have all had our hearts broken at some point and to realise how manipulative it was and one sided, I think people feel bad. But in the end, she’s just self sabotaging which tells me she needs a better therapist—if she has one at this point considering how hard it is now to trust exactly that kind of person. Spears is grateful for the adult professionals who helped her get her start, but the same can’t be said of her peers.

Japan's SLIM lunar lander tipped over on touchdown, but still captured imagery of the moon while demonstrating high-precision landing technology. Out of many candidates for villains of the book, Timberlake included, perhaps the worst are the careless journalists of the late 1990s and early 2000s, who indulged Timberlake while vilifying Spears. The Woman in Me is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.A witty account of a most unusual life ― Independent Brilliant pen portraits of his father and myriad friends present a framework for Gyles's contemplation of his extraordinary life. However, Britney claimed during a court testimony that her situation was abusive and "restricted everything from whom she dated to the color of her kitchen cabinets," per The New York Times. I think the reason people have responded so visceral to some of the book is because Britney was crucified by the press, fans of both Britney and Justin when it was marketed as him being heartbroken. That it hasn’t turned into a complete tragedy is a testament to Spears’s essential fortitude of spirit – something that burns off these pages.

Speaking to TMZ, Asghari said he's 'freaking proud' of his former partner for putting herself out there in her memoir, adding 'I hope she takes over the world. But this is where superstar Britney Spears found herself, 13 years into a conservatorship constructed by her father. She makes a statement towards the end of the book that she’s a six year old and then proceeds to explain that she understands she’s not actually six years old but she feels like she is. Williams uses a direct approach to voice Spears's feelings, and these passages carry even more weight in this audiobook than the dramatic events of her life.

The scary thing is, as Britney says from the outside, it sounds like a concerned family looking after an out of control adult, but the person is stripped of all human rights and dignity. The Woman in Me is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.

Everyone knew her and Justin where a couple, they broke up, she broke his heart by cheating, his revenge song etc but reading the book we get a very different version of what went on. Key revelations include the at-home abortion Spears underwent at the urging of then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, the casual drinking she engaged in with her mother as a young teen (even as her father was gripped by alcoholism), and the sordid details of the rehab stints she endured at the behest of her father, who insisted she wasn’t mentally well enough to drink coffee or drive a car even as he profited from the Las Vegas residencies he signed her up for. While reading I realised Britney went through so much horrible abuse, I knew she went through a lot but it is a lot worse than I thought. And when she spoke, it was obvious to me that she had a really good heart, something very hard to find in Hollywood.
