We were the first gin distillery to have a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KPT) with the capital’s Heriot-Watt University. Inspired by Edinburgh's rich naval heritage of cannons and the famous One O'clock Gun, Cannonball Gin is a Navy Strength gin that lives up to its evocative name.

This higher alcohol content allows our distillers to add more botanicals, it has almost double the juniper and citrus than any other expression in the Edinburgh Gin range, this allows for a smoother mouth feel which counteracts the heat from the spirit. The folks behind Edinburgh Gin have been rather busy as of late, setting up a distillery in the heart of Edinburgh and getting a new gin ready for us to enjoy. Taking the Classic Gin as a foundation, Edinburgh Gin now has a series of expressions that push boundaries, encouraging drinkers to explore new flavours combinations. They have used double strength juniper, lemon peel and a pinch of Szechuan pepper, among other botanicals, to create a hearty tipple that's sure to make an impression (you know, much like a cannonball would). Their Brewing and Distilling MSc was the world’s first dedicated distilling programme, and this allowed us unrivalled access to industry-leading distilling expertise, use of their labs for analysis, and finesse production methods.It makes for a vigorously refreshing Dry Martini, served with a lemon twist to complement the gin’s peppery, zestier notes. For off shore and some Highlands destinations we will most likely use Parcelforce or Royal Mail and it may take a day or two longer to reach you. And here it is - Edinburgh Gin Cannonball, a Navy Strength gin with quite a punchy character thanks to the ABV, which sits at 57. Cannonball resurrects a historic style of gin commissioned by the British Navy, making this gin an homage to Edinburgh's seafaring past.
