The case comes with three Pure Wings 2 140mm fans to deliver excellent airflow throughout the case. There is also space to add additional fans, too, for those after a very cool system. The rear usb-c connector has power but seems loose and plugging things into it connect then disconnect and I have to hold the cable in place to maintain a connection. Silence-optimized construction with industrial sound-damping bitumen on the front, top, and side panels

Not sure what you need from your quiet PC case? Let our buyer’s guide help you there! Cooling Power In that same vein, we also received an accessory kit with the Define 7 containing an entire replacement top panel. Using this panel defeats some of the noise damping features of the case, but it does allow mounting fans and radiators, vastly expanding the cooling options. The downside of swappable panels like this is that customers are inevitably going to pay for a panel that they don’t use, but the ability of the Define 7 to switch from a silence-focused case with a ton of drive mounts to a liquid-cooled case with massive radiators and a reservoir at the front, or anything in between. Today’s winner, and the best quiet PC case overall, is Fractal Design’s Define 7 case. At a reasonable price, the case delivers low noise levels thanks to its high-density sound damping. The case comes with several color options, too, allowing you to tailor it to your style. Cooling fitment has grown quite a lot compared to previous Define series chassis. Define 7 can fit up to nine 120 or 140mm fans. The XL version can fit up to eleven 120mm fans or nine 140mm fans. Radiator fitment for the Define 7 can fit up to a 360mm or 280mm up front; the top can fit up to 360mm or 420mm, the rear is up to 120mm, and the bottom even offers up to 240 or 280mm. The XL version offers up to 480mm or 420mm in the front and top, while the rear and bottom provide the same 120 and 240 or 280mm mix. The CPU air cooler limit should you opt for a tower that would be 185mm on both the standard and XL models. Both the standard Define 7 and the XL version come with three 140mm based DC chassis fans, two in the front intake and one rear as exhaust. We can get ourselves a quiet PC case; that’s what we can do! The market has exploded with more of us craving a silent operation; quiet PC cases will use many technologies to keep the noise to a minimum. Unfortunately, they can’t do anything about the shouting when you get shot mid-heist!

I deleted the irrelevant lines to save space. I will be using my current system home 1TB Samsung m.2 SSD so there's no windows and only 1 drive in the spec. I have a 9-year old PC which is used for work (Office365, Teams etc), a bit of gaming (Civilisation mainly) and movie streaming (Netflix and others). A fully windowed side panel is made from tempered glass, which allows you to view the PC’s internal components. It is worth noting here that tempered glass panels are not the best for reducing noise in PCs. Top cover can be removed to swap in the included ventilated top panel for additional cooling options Load testing is conducted using Prime95 LFFTs and Kombustor “FurMark” stress testing simultaneously. Testing is completely automated using in-house scripting, and executes with perfect accuracy on every run. Thermal Testing

Fractal Design’s case features front and side panels lined with industrial-grade sound-dampening material. Customers found the two 120mm GP-12 X2 fans quiet while in operation and still delivered excellent airflow to keep the PC case cool. Blender thermals are next, another real-world workload. This one is split between CPU and GPU renders to isolate the parts. Be Quiet!’s PC case is water-cooling ready and can house radiators up to 360mm on the top, front, or rear of the case. The flexibility of his PCS case is fantastic! The case also comes with two-preinstalled pure wings fans to ensure a quiet operation. When considering the flexibility of your PC case, look at the range of ports available too. A good range of USB ports will allow you to tailor the PC to your needs too. If possible, you will want at least one USB-C port, as this will deliver faster speeds than newer devices will appreciate. HDMI ports and aux ports are great additions too! Cost If the price ranks higher in importance than how quiet your PC case is, perhaps our other article Best Budget PC Case in 2023, will be more helpful. Customers praised how quiet the PC case was and its solid construction. Especially when you consider the price, it is very well built!

We’ve been hot and cold on Fractal over the past couple years. Their whole lineup has had consistently high build quality, but our opinions have ranged from the highly-rated Meshify cases that have excellent cooling potential (with some aftermarket fans added in) down to the highly-priced and unexciting Define S2 Vision RGB. Today we’re reviewing the Define 7, successor to the Define R6, a case that fell on the positive end of that scale in our review. We’re sure there’s some reason for Fractal dropping the “R,” but we neglected to ask. I usually have Civilisation on one monitor and either a music app or a movie streaming on a 2nd monitor, both 1080p I think. I'd like to have the option to connect to a TV (42") and play the movie on there. (It does not need to be 4k, my eyes aren't that good). I'm also thinking of getting one of those Oculus 2 Virtual Reality headsets. Most importantly, the PC must be as quiet as possible. For those after an affordable yet quiet case, Corsair is the best one for you! The mid-tower case uses lined side panels and noise dampening materials to keep the sound down. As with any PC case, flexibility is a great feature to have! It will allow you to create the PC to your specifications with minimal complications. When purchasing your new case, consider its flexibility.

Products at a Glance

The case is made of thin aluminum to provide a lightweight feel to the case. Great, should you need to move the PC around? However, some customers noted that the aluminum felt quite thin, and when screwing or moving the case, it does not appear overly sturdy. This issue was not widely reported but is one to consider when purchasing your quiet PC case. It's not awfully loud, but I did expect it to run quieter to be honest, especially with no processes running. I have swapped out the mesh panel on the top for the solid one which helped a tiny bit. It's raised off the floor with good airflow too. Looking at another thread, it looks like the following spec will fit the bill, but I'd appreciate comments/advice! (I'd like to bit a bit future-proofed: I might not buy another one for another 10 years, but budget is limited When it comes to a quiet PC case, it is best to avoid towers with tempered glass panels. These can let noise leak out and aren’t as quiet as closed-case units. Tempered glass panels are also not the best for airflow and require additional fans, making extra noise. Corsair has fitted two 120mm fans to ensure airflow in the closed-faced design. There is also a 3-speed fan controller that powers on overdrive when required to maintain an excellent machine. The controller also helps to keep the PC as quiet as possible while you are using it. Being in control of the fan allows you to control the noise in a way that we don’t usually see in the PC world! Especially at this low price!
