- Brand: Unbranded
Description
As for the connections, it is important to me as an audiophile that the VSX-935 AVR has a built-in phono stage. In terms of HDMI ports, everything is also very good. There are 6 inputs and 2 outputs ( eARC), and they support HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG, as well as 8K/60p (4:2:0), 4K/60p (4:4:4), and BT.2020 pass-through, so you can easily enjoy content from any source. The receiver also has 4K to 8K, 1080p to 8K/4K video conversion, and scaling capabilities to improve picture quality on older devices. Please note: TV and larger floorstanding speaker deliveries are not available to Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Islands, and Channel Islands.
Any extended warranties offered by Peter Tyson are free. We do not include any form of insurance terms such as accidental damage or loan equipment cover. We do provide installation options for built-in appliances providing it is simply a case of fitting the appliance and furniture doors. Any additional work to the kitchen units or carpentry work required will need to be completed at the customer’s expense. Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM): Auto Low Latency Mode enables the ideal latency setting to automatically be set allowing for smooth, lag-free and uninterrupted viewing and interactivity. When the receiver detects a gaming signal it will enter ALLM. The signal will also be sent to the TV causing it to automatically switch to a low-latency, low-lag mode for gaming. Some functions will not be available on the receiver and TV during ALLM. As for surround sound, the model supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization. It also has a unique Reflex Optimizer feature that provides accurate sound reflections from the ceiling when using Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. The receiver also has a handy feature called Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration, which I found particularly useful and working well during setup.DTS Neural:X: Both models feature DTS Neural:X which is an advanced upmixer that can take non DTS:X content and upmix it to the DTS:X speaker layout. It has replaced the DTS Neo family with improved flexibility. The VSX-935 is compatible with 5.2.2ch configuration of the latest cinema sound platforms, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. You can reproduce object-oriented sound in smooth, curving movements, or the realistic three-dimensional movement overhead by the top speakers. When playing any Dolby format, engaging the Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer enables a more immersive listening experience, creating a virtual surround and height effect from traditional speaker layouts without employing additional surround or height speakers. With DTS Virtual:X, you can enjoy a three-dimensional immersive sound similar to DTS:X, without the need of height or rear speakers. The technology supports 2 to 7.1.4-channel input source, for delivery on 2 to 5.1 or even 7.1-channel speaker layout. DTS Virtual:X works with all DTS codecs, including DTS:X. Personal Preset Gamers will be pleased with the presence of VRR, ALLM, and QFT. These Pioneer VSX-935 features were missing in the previous VSX-934 model. In addition to the standard Dolby Vision and HDR10+, the receiver supports high-bitrate audio formats, including Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS:X, and Dolby TrueHD. And if high or surround speakers aren’t enough for you, get 3D sound with the built-in Dolby Atmos height virtualizer and DTS Virtual:X processing. The unit supports Full HD formats, including FLAC/ALAC/AIFF/WAV 24-bit/192kHz, and even DSD. This is also a step up from the predecessors of this model. Pioneer Elite VSX-LX305 comes with 6 HDMI 2.1 inputs with 8K support and 1 inputs with 4K support. It has 2 outputs - 1 MAIN and 1 SUB/ZONE 2.
Just press the Personal Preset button on the front panel for three seconds, and your current settings such as volume level and listening mode can be saved. Up to three presets can be registered and easily called up from the front panel button or the remote control. Dialog Enhancement DTS:X is the next-generation audio codec from DTS that leverages object-based audio to enable new immersive and interactive audio experiences. Since DTS:X can automatically adapt the audio to the existing channels and speaker system, no specific speaker layout is required. Experience an immersive soundscape with incredibly rich and life-like audio. Other audio codecs such as PCM and DSD can be upmixed using DTS Neural:X for enjoying 3D surround sound. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization What we didn’t like, is that the Bluetooth is a little old. It’s version 4.2 which caused some transmission troubles.
Sound quality
Sound: IMAX and DTS have partnered with award-winning Hollywood sound mixers leveraging DTS:X codec technology integrated in home audio equipment and select televisions to deliver an IMAX signature sound experience with deeper bass and more dynamic range. Sized at 17-1/8” W x 6-13/16 H x 14-9/16” D (21.2 lbs), the VSX-935 carries impressive connectivity for its class. In addition to six HDMI inputs and two outputs, owners will enjoy access to Ethernet, rear USB, digital coax and optical, dual subwoofer pre-outs, four sets of RCA inputs, and a moving magnet phono input.

With 7 channels of built-in amplification (80w@8ohm), you have many ways of configuring the receiver using a very intuitive graphical interface to dial in the setup. This includes traditional 7.1 surround, 5.1.2 Atmos/DTX-X setup, or even height channel setup similar to Auro 3D. You simply have to tell the system where your speakers are physically located and the rest is done automatically, including during room correction analysis. A pair of subwoofer connections are provided via RCA connection, requiring self-powered subs to operate. Build quality of the VSX-935 receiver Audio streaming options include Bluetooth, DTS Play-Fi with Critical Listening Mode, Chromecast built-in, AirPlay 2, Works with Sonos, and Roon Tested. The VSX-935 also carries built-in support for services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer, and Pandora, all of which can be accessed through the free Pioneer Music Control App. Hi-Res audio can be sourced through USB or a network connection, with support for up to 24-bit/192kHz AIFF, FLAC, WAV, and DSD (5.6 MHz) files. DTS:X is the next-generation audio codec from DTS that leverages object-based audio to enable new immersive and interactive audio experiences. Create the optimum acoustic environment with Pioneer’s MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System), developed with the expertise of professional recording studios. With the custom microphone, the system automatically compensates for differences in speaker size, level and distance, and equalises response. With this unique mid-range sound control feature, you can make independent volume adjustments to the range including dialogues in films, with the up/down key on the remote control. MCACC Auto Room Tuning
HDR10+: HDR10+ is an HDR video technology that adds dynamic metadata to HDR10 source files. The dynamic metadata are used to adjust brightness levels on a scene-by-scene or even frame-by-frame basis. HDR10+ supports maximum of 10,000 nits peak brightness and 10-bit or more (up to 16-bit) color bit depth. It uses Samsung's dynamic metadata defined in SMPTE ST 2094-40. For streaming music, the built-in Spotify application sounded significantly better than when connected via Bluetooth, no surprise given the relatively paltry implementation of the wireless standard. Given the robust networking support built into the VSX-935, you’re going to get the most by letting its internal decoding handle all of your music and movie needs.
