Description

FF16 will be available in several editions, including a collector's edition; you can see the pricing and contents of each below. However, as you might suspect, the digital version of the game doesn’t get any of this extra loot, but instead includes a digital mini artbook and soundtrack. Scholar’s Glasses” are accessories that increase the amount of experience points you can gain when equipped. The game launches worldwide on June 22nd as a PS5 exclusive with a few different editions, including a Collector’s Edition for hardcore fans.

To play this as a straightforward action game with little deviation is to have an amazing experience, but if at any time you feel inclined to stop and smell the roses of Valisthea, you may be found wanting.

You’re doing all of this while combining them with your various elemental special moves, afforded to you by the Eikons, which are the colossal manifestations of classic Final Fantasy spells. You can read more about it in our exclusive Final Fantasy XVI interview with the game’s director, or check out our Final Fantasy XVI hands-on preview. Final Fantasy 16 is an action RPG that leans far heavier in the action department than it does the RPG. It's hard to believe that almost seven whole years have passed since the release of the last mainline Final Fantasy title, especially when one considers that only three years separated the series' eighth, ninth, and tenth installments. The boss themes are incredible, and the reimagined Final Fantasy Victory Flourish never fails to make us break into the widest grin.

It will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive for at least six months, after which it may come to PC and/or Xbox — but Square Enix has made no announcement to that effect so far.The side content does feature great writing, and the quality of the missions themselves improve right as the game is about to conclude, but it then runs into the pacing issue of going full-pelt towards a thrilling finale, leaving little incentive to go and do those side missions, unless you’re a completionist. The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, a cloth world map of Valisthea, and a special Clive Rosfield steelbook case.

For those looking to immerse themselves in the world of Valisthea, we’re covering what’s available in each edition, from bonuses. However, before they can do so, players will need to decide which version of Final Fantasy 16 is best, with three different options available to them. Exclusive items to the Collector’s Edition include a Phoenix versus Ifrit summons statue, and a collection of Eikon pins. If you aren’t, we have a thorough guide on whether you need to play the previous games of the Final Fantasy series to enjoy FF16 or not. The Deluxe Edition gets the following bonus items, on top of everything offered by the Standard Edition. There are a couple of extra items exclusive to the collector’s edition, including a Phoenix versus Ifrit summons statue, and a collection of Eikon pins that look pretty dope. While you’ll be introduced to your first sidequests fairly soon after the game’s prologue, these are doled out in random batches, and even when you do get more, they aren’t massively engaging. We just wish that when they are outside of the Hollywood blockbuster-tier adventures of the main quest, they were given some more interesting adventures to pursue.

All content, games titles, trade names and/or trade dress, trademarks, artwork and associated imagery are trademarks and/or copyright material of their respective owners. A plethora of powerful swordplay techniques and Eikonic abilities lie within Clive's remit - and it is up to you to decide which ones you wish to learn or upgrade.Meanwhile, GameStop is offering six Realms of Valisthea patches to anyone reserving a physical copy. Utilise the power of the game's many Eikons to expand your arsenal of attacks, as you battle monsters, enemies and powerful dominants. What sets the physical and digital version of the deluxe edition apart is — you guessed it — physical goods. When Producer Naoki Yoshida describes it as “a white-knuckle rollercoaster ride in video game form” he’s not kidding!
