Description

The Drukhari ( Aeldarix malum) (pronounced Druh-KAR-ee) or "Dark Ones" in the Aeldari Lexicon, also known to outsiders as the Dark Eldar, are a forsaken and corrupt Aeldari kindred, the sadistic, malicious counterparts of the Asuryani. Like their cousins of the craftworlds, the Drukhari are an ancient and highly advanced alien race of fey humanoids. If one looked carefully, these figures would be recognised as the Scourges, genetically and surgically altered avian Drukhari who have been refashioned into something far more deadly. This has the effect of giving Drukhari just a ton of flexibility and really allowing them to take pretty much whatever units they want in an army, unbound by restrictions, while at the same time getting a host of varied special rules. Not only does this make them flexible, but it also gives them a lot of extra CP. While a lot of other armies are running two detachments, often paying 3 CP for that privilege, to get the units they want Drukhari can do this for free. Coupled with the base two extra CP they get this often means that a Drukhari army is going to start out a game with a net of around 5 CP more than the enemy, which is not a small advantage. With access to a greater variety of unit buffs (thanks to being able to take multiple Obsessions) they can also tailor their army better. Lots Of Offence, Lots of D2 This was the birth of the Chaos God Slaanesh, the Dark Prince of Pleasure, better known as "She Who Thirsts" to the Aeldari and all their descendants, for to them Slaanesh was inherently female.

Thin down some Mournfang Brown aggressively, then put it on the cloaks everywhere but the recesses. It should be so thin that it goes on sort of transparent – you’re really just using this to smooth out the Contrast effect so it looks nice The servants of the Aeldari Laughing God Cegorach, who were protected by his influence within the Webway from being slain during the Fall, are called the " Harlequins" in the most common translation of the Aeldari term for the faction into Low Gothic. Coven units retain a 5+ FNP (4+ for Urien), and have some suitably scary ranged and combat potential. The wings can get some final edge highlights but that isn’t super necessary, especially if you have more than one model of these to paint.

Within the Warp, the constant stream of indulgence and depravity pouring from the Aeldari Empire became as unstoppable as a tide. It nourished and empowered that which crystallised at its centre -- a nascent god of excess and amoral pleasure-seeking. The long millennia of Aeldari hedonism had made a massive impact in the psychic realm of Chaos. The vast starship's engine blast flattened spires and starscrapers alike before the Space Marines made their escape. The entire Astartes fleet then passed through the still-yawning Webway portal above High Commorragh and escaped triumphantly into realspace. The entire species of beings who once ruled the galaxy-spanning Aeldari Empire for millions of Terran years are called the "Aeldari." In the wake of the Fall of the Aeldari, the survivors of the great cataclysm adopted new names for their varying sub-cultures or kindreds. If one were to trespass amongst the jutting spires of High Commorragh, one might just make out the winged figures soaring upon the hot thermals of the Dark City. The furore that resulted from this audacious capture set the spires of High Commorragh aflame with new intrigue. A Space Marine captain was a great prize indeed, for such an individual could withstand extreme and prolonged mental and physical torture before divulging his vital secrets about Imperial defence.

The steel is a new recipe for me using Scale 75 Eclipse Grey > Scale 75 Anthracite Grey > Scale 75 Behring Blue > GW Fenrisian Grey > Scale 75 WhiteTwo dozen strike cruisers, each appearing like a chunk of Gothic architecture reshaped for war, hammered though the wide-open portal into the shadowy skies of the Dark City. At their heart was the great Battle Barge Vulkan's Wrath, an immense spacecraft with broadside batteries that could flatten whole cities. We use DHL for our main courier. The delivery guide for this is next working day to 2 working days. The longer period is for areas such as the Highlands and Islands of the UK.

Ravager– In a shift towards high toughness and reduced ap the Ravager continues to bring heavy precision shooting that the Dark Kin are going to need. Alright sets for these guys are kinda inclusive to what they are hunting and wether or not heavy weapons are a worth it. Once you have the glaze mixed, use a small brush to put just a little bit of the paint on the tip. Since the paint is so wet with thinner, if there’s too much paint on the brush it will run and we wont have the kind of control we want. Use your nail, the base of the model, or the pallet to test it a bit to make sure you have good control over the paint coming off the brush.

Painting Drukhari

The reason for this is that scourges out of the many options feels oddly misplaced in terms of rules and a hand full of other things that I'll get to. But it feels kinda odd to have one of my favorite units be in a odd spot of good but maybe not. (It's not as bad as beast though who are sadly the forgotten children of the book) For the sword I go with a bone look – Rakarth flesh washed with Agrax – and I paint the tubing Moot Green. That pretty much covers it. I’m happy with the final model and it wasn’t nearly as much time to paint as I expected it might take.

General Imperial practice was to avoid it at all costs. Unknown to the Imperium, there existed a vast portal into a main arterial of the Webway within Desaderian space, shielded by holofields that made it appear to be nothing more than a shimmer in the starlight, perhaps a result of gravitational lensing. Behind this portal lurked the pirate fleets of Commorragh, waiting for unwary prey. This set of rules take Drukhari in a shooting heavy, Beta-strike direction, utilizing cover and raids from Deep Strike to close with the enemy and take them apart in a hail of high quality shooting before their arrogant overlords emerge from their vehicles to clean up the survivors on their terms on the ground. The combat feels toned down and more carefully handled than last time, and this will take some getting used to, but building a genuine take all comers Drukhari army that can punch above its weight at range as well as in melee is more possible than it has been in a long time. A genuine Realspace Raid, with transports, and some combination of all of the Drukhari sub-factions, feels like the best way to run this army going into the new edition, and that is a very appropriate and thematic place to start. Wrap Up Before the Fall, during Humanity's Dark Age of Technology, the Aeldari had an immense galaxy-spanning empire comprising thousands of worlds, and some claim that it was larger and more powerful than even the Imperium of Man at the height of its power. The seeds of the Imperial invasion were sown in the region of the galaxy called the Desaderian Gulf. This area of Wilderness Space was well-known among the Human starfarers of the Segmentum Tempestus for the number of spacecraft that had disappeared within its confines. Limited Durability: Fragility is going to be a real issue for the Dark Kin, as befitting their glass cannon playstyle. As toughness scales up to new heights elsewhere most of our units have stayed in a similar ballpark, and invulns better than 6+ are relatively rare here now. Careful play will reap better rewards.

Scourges dwell within the upper spires of Commorragh and are an intrinsic part of life in the city. They act not only as warriors but also spies and messengers for various Archons. Their messages are often imbued with a poison whose antidote is only in the possession of the recipient. [3] Deepstriking Vehicles: As if to combat the aforementioned durability concerns, Drukhari vehicles now come with Deepstrike built into their data sheets. This is a MASSIVE change, allowing for carefully timed beta-strikes out of the sky to ensure you get to fight on your terms. The Drukhari, particularly their warrior castes, are tall, lithe, white-skinned humanoids. Their alabaster skin is death-like in its pallor, for there is no true life-giving sun within their dark realm to provide colour. Their athletic bodies are defined by whipcord muscle, shaped and enhanced until they are physically stronger on average than their Craftworld Aeldari counterparts, as the Drukhari prize physical and martial prowess highly. Jain Zar by Gav Thorpe also features the Drukhari in significant fashion and gives them some real show-stealing scenes. It’s worth saying that at the moment Urien Rakarth and Lelith Hesperax do not have the Haemonculus and Succubus keywords, but it is something that they have traditionally had. Whether they are intended to provide this detachment benefit is unclear so clarity will be needed on that further down the line). On the plus side we told GW about this and they fixed it, on the downside they didn’t tell us they did that. The good news is that Lelith and Urien count as the things they are meant to count as and you can get extra tokens from them, hurrah. Enhancements
