Welcome! I write contemporary romance with a dollop of humor and a pinch of steam, often set in fabulous locations. Much like in her first novel, Luna is excellent at building the world around her characters. I’ve never been to the area that it depicts (if it’s even real?) but the descriptions are so detailed and vivid, you feel like – as a reader – you are right there with the characters. Maybe that’s why he couldn’t leave town for six days. Tears welled up in her eyes. I feel so stupid. What if he has a secret family? Was he making a huge mistake? The last time he attended a wedding, he made a total ass of himself. He still hadn’t fully recovered from the debacle.

Tell them you broke it off. If they ask why, you can say you caught him cheating. Even as he said it, he winced, remembering the callous way Taylor had ended their relationship. She’d told him she’d fallen for someone else. And she’d done it via text. I also want to thank the publishers Moon Manor Press and the writer Carla Luna for my e-copy of this book. I enjoyed it and I hope others will as well. About the Author In all her twenty-four years, she’d never contemplated marriage—not to Chris or anyone else. She had yet to experience the powerful, all-consuming pull of attraction that led to a lifelong commitment. Right now, all she wanted was for Chris to make an effort. Some gesture that showed he cared. Too bad there’s a grueling 10K race and a cutthroat trivia night to endure. Not to mention a massive secret to protect. But will the biggest secret of all turn out to be that this fake relationship feels more real than April or Brody ever imagined? He set down the food and enfolded her in a hug. She clung to him tightly, pressing her body against his, and he was distracted by how nice she felt. Soft and warm and sexier than usual.

He groaned. That’s not what I meant. I’d be up for a normal vacation, like a weekend in the mountains. But weddings have this weird impact on women. Only what I’ve told them. They haven’t come to visit since last year, and I wasn’t dating him then. So, without any photos, I don’t have a shred of proof.

Carla Luna writes contemporary romance with a dollop of humor and a pinch of spice. A former archaeologist, she still dreams of traveling to far-off places and channels that wanderlust into the settings of her stories. When she’s not writing, she works in a spice emporium where she gets paid to discuss food and share her favorite recipes. Her passions include Broadway musicals, baking, whimsical office supplies, and pop culture podcasts. Though she has roots in Los Angeles and Victoria, B.C., she currently resides in Wisconsin with her family and her spoiled Siberian cat. The romance between April and Brody is fantastic and equal parts sweet and steamy. Both April and Brody are nerds, and I loved their references to Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and more. They are the best of friends, and they are a great support to each other. They have such fun together, and it’s clear that they can be completely themselves when they are together. Both have had bad and recent breakups and are a little hesitant about love. However, they have a special connection and care deeply for each other. I love how they slowly admit their feelings for each other and how their relationship grows and transitions throughout the story. They have such fantastic chemistry, and their ease with and love for each other is relatable, realistic, and swoon-tastic! I totally related to this couple, as my husband and I were friends before we became more. We are also big nerds, much like April and Brody. She grabbed a wooden spoon and waved it at him. You need to wait until tomorrow. I still have to frost them. When she bit her lip and looked away, he was hit with a rush of guilt. He didn’t want to hurt her. But he also didn’t want her thinking Chris’s behavior was acceptable. Sorry. I’m not trying to make things worse. Both April and Brody have complicated family relationships, though the story focuses more on April’s family. Her sisters are particularly difficult and antagonistic, especially toward April. They are a highly competitive family, unlike April, and April often feels like the odd one out. She and Brody are alike in that way. They both struggle with feelings of worth and not living up to the expectations of their family. Neither feels like they fit in with the rest of their family, and they always seem like they are trying to prove themselves to those who should accept them without reservation. And no, you can’t make it up to me in the bedroom. Because if you bail this late in the game, then we’re done.

Brody is also very likeable, the lovable nerd and the kind of character that makes me annoyed I’ve never had a male friend (especially not one who fancies me, but a girl can dream 😂). Both Brody and April have their problems but, like the first book in the series, there’s no denying that their chemistry is there. For a brief, blissful moment, the fire inside April burned bright. Screw Chris. She was through with all his calorie counting and all his rules. Like no sleeping over. After they were done, he always dressed and headed for the door. No matter how many times she asked him to stay, he claimed spending the night would derail his morning run. I wouldn’t have been able to read this book – or participate in this Blog Tour- without Rachel (of Rachel’s Random Resources) so I just wanted to say thank you to her for organising the tour and for letting me have a spot on it, too. This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, organizations, places, events, and incidents are either products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is entirely coincidental. When she put it that way, the whole enterprise sounded likely to trigger his anxiety. But unlike Maui, this wasn’t a romantic trip. He had no expectations other than spending a fun week in Wisconsin with one of his closest friends. There was no chance of heartbreak. Once they get there they both realize that faking it won’t be hard because they like each other but at the same they both think the other only sees them as a friend.
